INTRODUCTION
Academic skills is defined as collection of experience, learning and knowledge which
assist students to get better results and outcomes as well. In addition to this, academic skills are
developed of core skills that is presentation skills, referencing, writing, critical thinking, time
management and many more. The report includes concept of personal & professional
development consist long-term, medium and short-term goals respectively. Along with this, there
is evaluation of different sources in context of purpose, relevance, reliability and author as well.
In the last. Personal development plan is projected in an effective manner.
TASK 1
Concept of personal & professional development.
Personal & professional development is an ongoing process due to which a person and an
organisation deal with the challenges & meet with the objectives effectively. Personal
development planning take place when am individual has the knowledge about what
improvements they want in order to grab opportunities and to attain positive results in their
career. Reflection is significant for both personal as well as professional development that means
focusing on the meaningful subject in order to make improvements.
Describe & discuss the value of short term goals identifying 3 personal illustration.
Setting goals plays an important role for gaining success and personal development as
well. Short term goal is defined as planning that an individual want to achieve within 3 to 5
months. It is stated that attaining short term goals motivates a person and make them closer to
focus on medium & long-tern goals. The short-tern goals that I want to achieve is given below:
Improvement in writing skills
To learn and develop attractive presentation
Communication and interaction skills
Describe as well as discuss the value of medium term goals along with 3 personal examples
Medium-term goals are those which an individual want to attain within the rime period of
6 to 12 months. It is sated that every individual has medium-term goals but to achieve them is
their priority. It is important for a person to focus on mid-term objectives as it make them

prepare to develop and emphasis on long-term objectives. The mid-term goals for both personal
& professional development is given below:
Learning problem solving skills
To develop team building skills
Attending as many online courses which help in professional development
Describe and discuss the value of long term goals along with at least 3 personal illustration.
Long-term goals reflects on the plan which an individual want to achieve in the future. It
is analysed that such goals is not easy to attained straight away or in the next week. It is
important for a person to focus on the directions they need to go through in order to achieve
objectives. The examples of long-term goals that I want to achieve is mentioned below:

To learn managements skills
To complete post-graduation in business management

The sources which are needed to refer the work and results developed by make use of
other ideas is needed to be relevant, reliable and meet with the purpose as well. It is stated that
assessing the source credibility is important as it guarantees credibility as well as quality of
academic research. CRAAP is the test that is use to know the relevancy and credibility of the
source.

Relevance: the give information is appropriate for the examination

Accuracy: check from where the data originates & is supported by evidence.
