The topic for reflective summary journal: Academic skills and study with confidence.
Academic skills are considered as adopting various professional skills in order to expand the potentials. It involves learning and
referring professional journals to improve the knowledge and skills.
What have I learnt from the session:
I have learnt many aspects related to the topic academic skills. I get to learn about different kinds of referencing styles like
Harvard referencing and other that can be used in academic texts to get the brief on the topic. I have identified that how academics
of different authors can be used for guidance purposes in making a project report. Academics referring also supports in getting
proper academic knowledge of the texts and different topics part of the text. During the whole assignment i got to know that
referencing must be proper and accurate and citation must be done appropriately at the place in project where the specific quotes
related to author views has mentioned in texts. I also got to know that the place of citation must be proper it can be either at the
beginning of the texts or in the end. I learnt paraphrasing in the assignment. I also identified usage of paraphrasing. In order to use
the technique of paraphrasing I also learnt the ways that supports to go through texts of professionals for paraphrasing.
Paraphrasing helps us in better explaining the topics in academic journals. Paraphrasing is an important part of the academic
journals and notes making as it give a proper professional touch to the entire project which helps the learner in better briefing

about the specific topic on the which texts has been prepared. I also identified ways to take notes for better explanations in
academic texts. Taking notes is an important part of preparing texts as it gives more academic touch to the entire texts. Notes also
improve the significance of the project as it helps us in making crucial inclusions in the projects that can improve the utility of the
entire texts. During the entire academic learning I also analysed the usage of trinity university resources. I got to know about the
utility of trinity university resources due to the academic learning. Trinity references helps us understanding the value of skills and
techniques in improving the use of academics learning and conducting activities in professional life as well. Trinity references
give proper guidance in respect to professional skills that can improve the personality of an individuals in conducting activity’s.
By briefing the references of Trinity university i also get briefs on improving different skills that can support better professional
experience. I also go through about the usability of library. Library enables about guiding all aspects of the practical situations and
academic knowledge. I also understand the usage of the library in exploring knowledge on different topics.
How could I use what I have learnt in my studies and career:
Academic learning play key role in improving skills and knowledge of individuals. I have learnt utilisation of references
that has improves my knowledge. BY using references I got to know about the views and opinions of all the respective authors
and professionals on a given topics. Using references is more like conveying justification about the topic and the gathered facts
that enables me to make clarification on the collected information. Improved knowledge will support me throughout my
professional journey. References are an important part of texts as it give the valid and specific information that improves the
knowledge and experience of reading journals and other projects of all the learners. With the support of trinity university
references I got the brief information on different professional skills that can be utilised in marking a specific presence in both

academics and professional life. Skills play crucial role in enhancing the capabilities and skills. Knowledge related to different
academics skills has improved my work exposure and efficiency. With the proper guidance of the trinity university references I
also identified ways to improve the different professional skills like communication skills, active listening skills, interactive skills,

individuals in the professional life but also in personal life. Communication skills help us interacting with new people in the
personal life as well that can change the exposure of life for individuals as well. Decision making skills play crucial role in both
personal as well as professional life as it will support me through out of mu professional journey in taking many decisions.
Decision making skills not just support in jobs but it is also a crucial part of the business operations. With the support of active
decision making i can grow my business or any profession i possess to improve my standard of living. Decision making involve
many aspects such as analytical skills, analysing, situation awareness and other aspects that will support me all of my life in
making crucial decisions. Referencing will also thrive my potential of making presentation. In academic journey many times we
need to prepare group presentation. Use of referencing and going through the academic journals will support my skills to make an
effective and useful presentation. Referencing improves the authenticity f the academic texts and journals and it also provide us
clear vies and opinions on a given topic. With the use of proper academic references i can improve the utility of all my

Why is this session important for my studies?
These sessions played the significant role in improving my academics as well as professional skills and potential. All the
session I have taken has guided me to make more professional approach to analyse and assess the situation. These sessions teach
about referring the views and opinions of experts and professional in order to collect detailed information. Collecting information
with the support of significant sources is an important factor work behind improving the credibility of the knowledge and work
capabilities. The entire study has also taught me to refer credible sources only in order to collect the information and data. Using
credible academic sources will only support the work you are producing. Academic sources improve the authenticity and
credibility of the collected information and data that give a different shape to the academic texts and journals and also to
presentation. It also improves the utility of the presentation as using specific data that are authentic and significant improves the
level of knowledge from texts and journals. I also go through the approach of Para phrasing which will also support my
