pattern. Academic skills plays a vital role in success and growth of an individual person and that
shapes an individual's career. These skills are the abilities and habits that can help a person to get
succeed in academic life and Development of academic skills may help in improving the ability
to learn new things, complete tests on time and help students to interact with each other to do the
projects together . These skills are helpful for the success of students in learning business and
management(Sedgley, 2020). High education Academic skills are very essential for every
student as they help in increasing the productivity and improve growth of the students. They are
generally useful to get success in school as well in college and are considered important for
getting good marks and knowledge throughout the academic life. It positively affects the self
confidence of students and make them realise their ambitions in life.

but further is useful during the career also. There are four skills which will help the students to
attain success in business and tourism management. Universities and colleges helps students in

tourism students. Research skills is very important in academic writing as it is the ability of an
individual to search for various relevant information on particular topics and also helpful in
identifying problems that are becoming hindrance in the performance and ability to complete the
given tasks (Mills, Roper and Cesare, 2021). Those who have the ability to do research can
easily come up with feasible solutions to the assigned problem. Research skills can be further
developed by doing more research on critical topics and finding out more solutions of difficult
problems . At universities teachers give various projects, report writing that can help students to
enhance their ability to do more research it also enhances person's ability to think critically in
any situation. Research skills are needed in academic writing also. It is required in some type of

writing skills such as in academic reports, dissertations in these type of reports it is crucial to use
research skills because without this it is not possible to write the final report without doing any
research. For example if one has given a report on personal reflection from his or her childhood
or may be on some business reports , learning to do research is essential if one wants to improve
his academic writing skills. Which means it is very important to find out those sources which are
trustworthy, and should know how to use these sources to get correct information from the web.
If students are not sure about the sources they are using then they can find the correct piece of
information from the library books and references. If again he is facing any problem in finding
the rightful information then A student can go to his instructor or journal to which he or she is
submitting to know about the style they can use and then they can do their search again. Before
writing any academic report it is very important to do a proper planning of what is going to be
written in the report and proper research plan is also needed because academic writing is all
about writing points which are based on academic research and studies. Planning is very
common among beginner who are doing academic writing for the first time. Planning is defined
as setting goals and objectives to accomplish the given tasks and selecting most appropriate
options to compete the given tasks. Planning is important for all type of organisation whether its
small or big , public or private or any sole proprietor business. Planning is vital in academic
writing also because lack of proper planning will make academic paper look lousy with confused
points and scattered on all the pages (Godfrey,(2014). These kinds of paper will confuse the
reader also instead of providing them information. So due to this it is very important to master
the planning skill in academic writing. If one wants to become successful in academic writing
they must find out the purpose of their writing. Whether they are going to write a descriptive
paper or an expository paper to define their points. One should know his audience also to whom
they are going to present their report then they have better idea regarding the transfer of
information to their readers. When students know their readers then they would know how to

to daily planning but also for creating long term realistic plans (Hardy, Powell and Pharris,
2020). It also help individual to reduce their stress and manage their time in effective way and
also maximise their strengths so that they can plan their whole day in a efficient way. Managing
the time leads to do work smarter ,not harder so that students can do more work in less time so
that they can get bigger opportunities. Time management skill is very important for students of
academic writing because only by managing their time they will be able to complete their
academic report on time. Students should also keep in mind the deadline of their projects and do
proper time management of their academic paper (Stanley, Belisle, and Dixon, 2018). Because
academic writing consists of various steps and the write make sure that they have plenty of time
to follow all the required steps without any hurry to complete the report. Writing a academic
paper involves research work, writing, outlining and editing the work to get the best result so the
students should make sure that they have sufficient time to manage all these processes before the
deadline and to avoid late night works. Getting good knowledge and solving ones problem on

information that has been used in the work or report. By using this skill one can make it clear to
the readers of how others work have been used in the report in order to develop ones own ideas
(Cottrell,2019). It is important to give credits to everything which has been taken from internet,
such as using quote from any book, summarising any idea from an article an using image to
define any point, all these requires credits. Referencing is very important for academic writing
because it brings the writers work in context and shows the proper ways through which research
has been done, and also recognising others work. Those who are writing academic reports can
use proper referencing to avoid plagiarism in order to make it clear about ones own idea and
ideas of others that are used by the writer in his report. It helps other to know about the sources
that has been used and also shows the understanding of the topics ans reports. It also act as a
supporting evidence for writers own ideas, opinions and arguments. Referencing style is also
very essential because it tells the writer about the information that is needed to be included in the
reference, and about the order in which the Information will appear and about the way in which

the information should be formatted in the academic report (Routon, Marinan and Bontrager,
2021).
