INTRODUCTION
Academic skills plays an important role in defining success of every individual as it facilitates in
increased productivity along with success. Many of the skills acquired at academic level can be
transferred and used in professional career. Students can perform better if they have relevant
skills. There are various methods by which individual can become productive and can take
advantage of many emerging opportunities. It is needed to upgrade skills regularly in order to
promote self growth. Academic skills helps students in encouraging in order to make them more
productive. This project report is based on reflection of various modules that I have studied . It ill
cover challenges level of learning along with formulation of strategies so as to become an
effective learner.
TASK
There are various opportunities that a learner can grab by upgrading skills and by continuous
process of learning. It facilitates students in becoming more productive and efficient. I have
studied various modules in my academics and following are journals of skills and description.
Academic and Employability skills
While working on this module. I have got insights of academic and employability skills and how
it is important in becoming me more productive. Before this module, I am not aware about
various application of academic skills and how it can be used in making students more
productive. But after completion of this module, I have realised that my self confidence have
raised and cab feel difference in my learning and knowledge. In this module, I have got insight
of conducting effective research in order to interpret collected data. There are various sources by
which I can collect data and can be used in my professional career. It will help me in academics
as I can analyse data in order to take effective decision. In addition to that, I have also acquired
report writing skill by which I can write effective project report along with make it more
presentable by presentation skill. Further, I have learnt employability such as critical thinking
and team work collaboration. In the initial stage of this module I have faced difficulty in
evaluating effectiveness and how it can be used in practical manner. As this topic is new for me
and faced difficulty but I have formulated plans in order to overcome from this barrier. So I have
decided to conduct group study in order to apply team building collaboration spirit and how it

Role of marketing in Business and Tourism
In this module, I have come to know that Marketing plays important role in making customer
aware about company's offering and products. It is important to use right marketing tool in order
to reach larger customer base. In addition to that, I have studied about Marketing Mix and how it
can help business in directing towards attainment of goals. It s important formulate effective
marketing plan in order to provide clarity workforce what they have to perform that could lead to
customer satisfaction. In this project. Before this module, I am not aware about use of digital
marketing in business. It is one of the cheapest marketing digital tools which helps in attracting
larger customer base. By opting this tool, many businesses have promoted their business. I was
not aware about how it can impact on tourism industry. As most of the audience are available on
social media platform and it becomes easier to engage them through flashy and eye catching ad
campaigns. Now a days, companies are promoting their business on digital platforms and attract
larger number of people. While working on this module, I have face little bit difficulty over
Marketing Matrix and how to identify customer needs and demand as it is a complex and time
consuming process. But by the help of internet I have come to know that there are various high
tech software, by which people can collect and interpret data from various digital platforms.
Through this module, I have learnt effective communication skill and how can I use in my
professional career. There are various application of marketing that makes business successful.
Legal Issues in Business and Tourism
Before this module. I was not having knowledge of legal issues in business and tourism and
business. There are various laws and legislations formulated by government bodies and
companies have to comply with or in case of non compliance, company may be penalised. So it
is important for company to follow all rules and regulations for smooth functioning of business
operations. In this module. It discuss about package and travel regulation for tourism companies
and tender process. Further, this module covers managing customer data. It is important for
companies to protect customer data and in order to maintain confidentially of customer. It also
briefly discussed about duty of care while operating business. There are various act discussed in
this module related to tour and travel. I have learnt about process of licensing and permitting
peers by providing feasible solution to their issues. The effectiveness of my decision is evaluated

traits of leaders which is needed for managing business activities. How new values are created
and how companies focus on providing economic needs while operating business. Leadership
traits helps business in guiding and instructing workforce so that they can put their efforts
towards attainment of goals and objectives. There are various theories which helps business in
managing their resources towards accomplishment of goals. The traits which I have studied in
this module are adaptability, team oriented, entrepreneurial and passionate. These are some traits
which help company in leading company towards successful. Company can be more efficient if
it have potential leaders who have ability to guide company towards fulfilment of both short term
and long term objectives. I have learned leadership skill by this module and have applied with
my peers. I have this skill but wanted to enhance in a better way but this module helped me in
gaining this skill. This skill I can use in my professional career as by directing and guiding my
team mates in an effective way in order to promote development. I have faced little bit challenge
in this module but with the help of peer simulation, I have successfully applied this skill in an
effective way. All my peers appreciated me and I was very happy after completion of this
module. I have read biography of various successful leaders and how they reacted towards a
problems and what steps they have taken to guide and instruct team mates. This strategy works
well for me as it helped me in getting information needed for this module.

In this module, I have studied about finance and its applications in business. I have also get to
know about importance of finance and how it can help in expansion of business. There are
various topics covered in this module of finance such as importance of finance and how it can be
used in making business more successful. It is important to allocate financial resource in such a
manner that it yields higher profit. I have come to know about various golden rules of accounting
and how important is to manage financial resources. If a company do not allocate funds in right
manner then later on it will face difficulty in operating business. So it is important to use funds in
a proper manner so that it yields higher return In this module, I have studied that how managing
financial resources can impact on firm's profitability and reduced cost. It is needed to formulate
budget and effective strategies so that company would not face any shortage in future. I have
also understand concepts of managing financial records as it helps companies in providing
economic stability. This module gave me insight of saving money and how it can be utilised in
doing other task in order to make process cost effective and smoother. Financial planning is term
in which I have faced difficulty at beginning of this module but by the help of teachers, I have
gained relevant information and tactics for formulating budget. As I was lacking in analysation
skill but I have consulted with my teachers and they have guided me in a polite way. This
strengthens our relation. The skill that I have learned by this module is financial management
and budget that can be sued in my personal and professional life. I can maintain fund for
effective learning in future. I can make financial decision by this skill and use remaining fund in
other activities.
