INTRODUCTION
Student is required to work in fair manner in order to pursue their degree. They should
remain honest towards university to obtain high grade. For that they need to be aware about
academic misconduct and how it is applied (Sheard and Weerasinghe 2017). However, there are
serious consequences of misconducts as it can led to hamper student career as well.
The report will give description of academic integrity, its importance and implication of
academic misconduct. Besides, it will reflect on steps taken in design of game and skills which
were learned.
SECTION 1
Description of academic integrity
Basically, academic integrity means to show honest and fair behaviour in regard of doing
work in university. Also, it means to remain honest and fair to others and become responsible for
doing work in learning and gaining of knowledge. Moreover, in every university there are certain
moral codes and ethics which student have to follow. The codes enable in governing institutes
and it contains standards which guide teaching, learning, etc. this is followed in all aspect that is
in writing, learning, etc. Alongside, there are 5 values of integrity which is defined as below:
Accuracy – it refers that work is free from any errors or mistakes done.
Honesty – this means being true to ideas and information of own or that is derived from
other. Also, it include methods and outcomes of research as well.
Fairness – it means by not doing anything unfair and taking advantage. For example-
passing of other work as your own (Slade 2021).
Responsibility- It means actively participating in own study and learnings. For instance-
seeking of info that is need to study in effective way
Respect- respecting teachers, professors, fellow students, etc.
In addition, there are many areas of academic integrity that include
Cheating on assignments
Plagiarism
Doing research fraud
Showing dishonesty in work
Administrative dishonesty that is taking decisions which are not in favour of students

The codes and ethics of university are same as it ensure that student work in ethical and
fair manner. Besides that, academic integrity also ensure that teacher and university management
take decision that is fair and follow ethical practices. Along with it, there are several policies as
well regarding misconduct and academic integrity. The policy maintain ethics and honesty and
impose fines and penalties in case of violation of integrity.
Importance of academic integrity in higher education
In higher education academic integrity plays vital role. It is important for student and
university as well. This is described as below :
Important for student
It is important to give students the best chance of success by doing assessment tasks with
honest attitude.
It is also important for students to avoid bad consequences like failing an assignment or
being asked to leave the university (Johnson 2018).
The student invest their time and effort in studying for a degree, which will be a stepping
stone to success in their chosen field or career. What they learn at university will set the
foundation for professional knowledge and practice.
The integrity safeguard student reputation and reflect on well being of university and
society.
The student are able to pursue new ideas and build knowledge. They also apply that
knowledge in future to build a strong career.
Important for university
The University needs to be consistent and trustworthy in its standards for courses and
assessments, so that the community can have confidence in the people who graduate with
degrees
It provide students and staff with guidance and training on what constitutes academic or
research misconduct and the development of good practices in maintaining academic and
research integrity.
Academic integrity ensures that research integrity are maintained in arrangements with
any other party involved in the provision of higher education.
It sets responsibilities of university towards society so that high standards are maintained.

Moreover, academic integrity ensure that no unethical practices are followed by student and
work in done in fair (Coffey, Anyinam and Zitzelsberger 2018). The students are not influenced
by any ideas or wrong information being given to them by using it for their own benefit.
Implications of academic misconduct
It has been analysed that there are various implication of doing misconduct in academic
integrity. Here, the implication depends on what type of misconduct is being done. Besides that,
it highly impact on reputation and career of student. Thus, implications are defined as
Social consequence- in this it indicate that those who do cheating in academic integrity becomes
habitual of doing it in real life as well. They cheat in family, business, society, etc. and other
aspect as well. Thus, this attitude harm on their personality only.
Inaccurate assessment- the cheating or plagiarised work is not assessed by tutor. Thus, student
performance in knowledge, skills is not valid. Therefore, institute may give credentials to those
who does not deserve. Thus, they use that credential to get job which is future can led to serious
practical implication in work place.
A warning- the student is given a warning by tutor not to repeat misconduct again. Also,
disciplinary action is also taken by tutor against it which can result in impact on student
reputation in negative way (Miller 2021). Here, disciplinary action may include removing from
college, suspension, deny to participate in any activity, etc.
Expulsion- This is also an implication of misconduct in which student is terminated from college
or for entire semester. They are declared as failed in particular semester. Hence, it affect on their
career. So, degree of higher education is affected due to it.
Therefore, these are some implication of academic misconduct which can led to
impacting on student career. Here, university are having their own rules and policies regarding
what action is to be taken for what type of misconduct.

Steps taken and difficulties in producing game
In order to design game there are several steps which were followed. This enabled me to

5

Pick a concept – It is first step which I took. I identified a concept on basis of which game is
deigned. Thus, it was easy for me to design game on basis of it. So, I pick up concept of
academic integrity of game (Khaled 2018).
Collect information- This is second step which I took. In this I started collecting information
from internet about concept that is what it is, types of game available, how I can design game,
etc. Then, I analysed that info and designed framework of overall game. I also watched videos of
some games to understand its concept. It was necessary for me to collect info so that I can get
idea of what type of game has to be designed.
Start building – In this I started building game. It was time consuming for me as I was doing it
for first time. So, any mistake in it can led to failure. First I wrote down instruction of playing
game. Then, I wrote rules of game and how it will be played. At last I set winning criteria of
game.
Test game – it is step in which I tested game with my friend. I did this to ensure whether game
design is good or not. Also, I identified mistakes in game as well. Then, I did analysis of test
outcomes and made improvements in game accordingly so that it match with my concept.
Launch game – at last I launched game for students to play with. This was done after making
changes in game rules, instruction, etc. (Mekler, Iacovides and Bopp 2018)
Difficulties in producing game
While designing game I faced certain difficulties in it. This hampered my performance
and also it led to delay in game design. So, difficulties are explained as
Delay in game design – It is major difficulty which I faced. Here, I was not able to design game
in given time. This is because I was not able to examine game concept and also there were many
ideas which spoiled game design. Thus, I was not able to find out user experience in it. So, delay
in time resulted in rise in cost of game design.
Figure out relevant outcomes- this is another difficulty which I faced. In this I was not able to
figure out that what will be outcomes of game achieved. Hence, I was very confused in this as I
was not able to take decision. Therefore, it also added in delay in game design.
Choosing right platform- I was not able to decide that what type of platform I need to use in
playing game that is online or offline. I find out pros and cons of both platform. I faced a lot of
problem in this. I searched on internet as well but was not able to decide it.

Reflect on skills learned
During academic year I learned a lot of skills. This will help me in my future career
growth and development (Fishburn and Amarosa 2020). Besides, I improved some skills as
well by learning more about them in depth. Moreover, I learned certain skills during producing
of game as well. They are defined as below:
Leadership skills- this is skill I learn in academic year. Here, I learned that what are traits of
leader, how to lead a team, what are various types of leadership style followed, etc. Moreover, I
learned that how leader listen opinions of others and what tactics or strategy is being used by
leader to direct team. In addition, I got to know that how leader motivate team members. Thus, I
learned a lot of things about leader that is characteristic, way of communication, etc.
Communication skills- I learned this skill and gained knowledge about it in depth. I got to that
what are various methods of communication that is verbal, non verbal, etc. Alongside, I learned
types of it that is formal, informal, etc. Thus, I can now easily communicate with other people in
effective way. In addition, I gained knowledge of communication process. So, it has helped in
my career in effective way. I am able to understand what other person want to say. I can identify
gestures of people easily.
Problem solving skills – this is main skill which I learned. I gained knowledge about what is
procedure of solving problem (Gerdes, Beal and Cain 2020). Besides, I got to know how to
find out root cause of problem and solve it. The skill also helped me to sharpen my analysis and
critical thinking as well. I am able to solve complex problem by analysing it and finding out
various solutions for it.
Skills learn in producing game
Creativity skills- This was most relevant skill which I used. This is because in designing of
game it require creativity. It shows that how game has to be designed, what type of game must
be, how student can play, etc. I used by creativity skill to design an effective and unique game
for students. I also integrated this skill which my imagination.
Design skills- the skill was used by me to design game. Here, I used various software in order to
design game. Then, I tested game and find out that how it is suitable for student to gain
knowledge about academic integrity (Khaled 2018). I also used this skill to design a presentation
of game. Thus, I created an attractive poster of game in power point.
