How did you rate your study skills at the beginning of year 1, semester 1?
In the beginning of the semester 1 year 1, I would rate my skills and capabilities in
accordance to the understanding and knowledge with respect to the subject matter.
This will assist in better focus on the grasping of the knowledge (Zhang, 2018).
In a sentence or two explain which skills you feel you are better able to cope
with now and which you feel you still need to develop.
To currently deal with the issues and aspects, my communication skills assist me in
coping with the series of the issues. However, to manage further activities I need to
focus on the skills related to the formulation of the strategy.
Briefly explain how you will use learning from your Understanding Self and
Others module to developyour study more effectively in the second year of
your course.
To study more effectively in the second year I will focus on the application of the
theoretical knowledge into practical conditions so as to have better knowledge.
Time management summary
Briefly explain how successful you been in adjusting your time to allow you to
go to all your classes and devote sufficient time to private study.
By making proper and effective schedules with respect to all the activities in relation
to the classes and private study, I was successful in managing of the time (Zhang,

2018). This leads to better grasping of my knowledge with respect to the subject
matter (Zhang, 2018). This as a result assists me in the attainment of the objectives.
Please say how you might alter your time management in your second year
and how you think this will improve your studying.
To improve my study patterns in the second year, I will ensure more focus on the
preparation of the schedules in relation to the attending of the classes and the
private study sessions (Zhang, 2018). For the purpose, I will ensure the scheduling
of the activities in accordance with the level of importance.
Referencing
Referencing is one of the key skills you need for your study, note anything
here that you still find challenging about referencing.
With respect to the framing of the references I found challenges such as:
 Requires lot of time
 Difficulty in understanding the different styles
 Unable to understand different materials that are being used (Roque, wt. al.,
2018).
 Difficulty in the understanding of the citation procedure.
How do you intend to make sure your referencing skills are sufficient for your
studies in your second and third year?
I will focus on the elaboration of the suitable guidance that can assist me in gaining
proper knowledge related to the forming of the reference. In addition I will make
more practice so as to attain better command in this respect in the forthcoming
years.
Skills sessions and study skills advisors
Please say here if you have made use of the skills sessions and the skills advisors
and how useful it was.
To enhance my understanding with respect to all the subjects, I focused on gaining
the suitable and effective knowledge from the various sessions that focus on the
improvement of the skills (Roque, wt. al., 2018). Further I also gain suitable and
effective understanding from the skills advisors who assist me in a great manner.
The advice from the skill advisors and the skills session were extremely useful as it
supports in the sharpening of the current skills that thereby assist me in better
dealing with the forthcoming challenges leading to the attainment of the objectives.
