INTRODUCTION
The report aims to identify various academic skills which are necessary to carry out
various tasks and activities. Academic skills plays a crucial role in the life of every individuals
who wants to look for achieving success. There are several key skills which are required at every
point of life even at professional level (Anicama, Zhou, and Ly, 2018). There are a lot of tasks
such as project making, communicating with peers, debates and presentation of ideas and
thoughts. All these activities must be carried out in perfect manner. This report is going to carry
out study about some of relevant skills which is necessary to be on the top position in university
and get good grades. Also, how these skills could be developed in the challenging life of
students.

This is an effective skills for a university students. Notes comprises a short and under
stable summaries which are taking out from the key topic. Note taking skills are required in
order to learn the topic in simpler manner. During the classroom sessions, students forgets about
what the teacher said and what examples they gave to explain the concept therefore, in that
situation, note taking play a vital role in keeping an overview about the topic covers. Also, this
skill is vert important at the time of project making and gaining information from different
sources (Cook, Dearingand Zachrisson, 2018). Students research through several areas which
would create confusion to decide what should be relevant and specific for the topic. So that,
making notes in own language is much helpful.
Avoiding plagiarism
This is also much crucial skill while studying in an university for a student. Plagiarism
defines as academic misconduct which shows that, the individual has copied some work. The
university does not accept any act of plagiarism as it is treat as breaching the academic integrity.
It does not support any work which is plagiarised as students needs to have skills to produce
reports, essay, projects and research in their own work. Therefore, this skill is important to
continue the study from universities or else the student could get suspend. This may face some

challenges by students as it will impact on the future career. avoiding plagiarism is the crucial
practice which is present in every individual. This could be develop through practising reports
and making essays (Munn, and Small, 2017). Also, focus on writing skills is also helpful for the
students to write in own words and avoid any act of cheating or copying others work.
Communication skills:
These skills are the most effective in every path of life. Communication play vital role in
presenting own thoughts and ideas in an effective manner which in easily understood by the
receiver. Students needs to have good vocabulary and way of talking to influence others. This
skill is important to gain professional career and achieve future objectives. Therefore,
universities provide many opportunities for students to enhance these skills through taking
participate in debates, speeches and presentations. The individuals will convey each and every
message clearly which they want to socialize. Communications are the important part to get jobs
and opportunities after passing out from universities as it will be require for every position to be
leader, HR or marketing manager.
Presentation skills:
Presentation are defined as the crucial skills which is necessary to represent any facts and
information in an attractive way. Presentations are treated as the important skills whether at
academic or professional level (Neiles, nd Bowers, 2020). It is necessary to have knowledge
about PowerPoint design, layout and how to represent a ppt is a main task. A students must have
these skills to attract the listeners towards their opinion and ideas which will be convey through
presentation format. Therefore, university provide classes and opportunities to develop these
crucial skills through giving assessments, presentation debates and group activities. This will
provide knowledge about using digital tools to get the work done effectively and in possible
easiest way.
Time management
Time is the key of every activity and for every individuals. There are a lot of task and activities
which needs to be perform by an individual for which time management vis most required. In
order to get advantages of many opportunities and complete its important tasks on proper time,
time is the crucial factor. In universities, students needs to be very punctual in submitting their
assessments and projects within the set deadlines. Any leniency will results in loosing grades and

marks. Therefore, it cloud be done through preparing time tables for each activities and give
appropriate time to each task to achieve objectives. Therefore, students needs to have these skills
for professional life as well as to work in large companies, time management is vital to meet the
deadlines and accomplish objectives in a proper way.
Planning
This skill is also vital for a student as it undertakes the planning for completing the
projects and manage both educational and personal life(Sala, Foley, Jand Gobet, 2017). It is
necessary for the student to plan all the activities to prepare for exams, get done with
assessments and plan for professional career successful planning will lead to achieve the aims so
that, there will be less complexities and confusion. A students needs to take better action at their
initial stages so that, the future will be clear and bright.
