Academic sources are also named as scholarly journals which is a periodical publication
at which scholarship is related to the particular academic discipline i.e. published. Academic
journals are considered as permanent as well as transparent forums in order to presentation,
discussion and scrutiny of research (Alony and et. al., 2020). These are generally considered as
document that are peer reviewed or refereed. I am determining academic sources on volunteering
in tourism. During conducting this process I determined evidences related to my abilities such as
I can do effective research, analysis, take decision and so on. During determining the academic
source I understand that there are several ways of academic sources which I can use for my topic
i.e. volunteering in tourism such as authoritative. This source is considered as sources which are
recognized by expert in the specific field and it is more like to be truth worthy. Peer reviewed is
another type of academic source which I evaluate during conducting work related to
Volunteering in tourism. In this other academic will read the sources as well as check it accuracy,
in respect of this academic books are generally checked by the editors as well as other reviewers.
In addition to this, I also determined that academic sources must be written for the
academics that generally target university lecturers, professionals, students and so on who are
interested in specific topic. Along with this I also determined that there are several types of
academic sources which I can adopt in order to gather information related to volunteering in
tourism such as books, published report as well as journal articles. For example newspaper
articles, opinion pieces, magazine articles, websites and many more. While using the academic
sources on volunteering the tourism I determined that academic writing aim to inform about the
topic. It is not related to selling things or present any person's opinion independent of logic or
evidence (Everingham and Motta, 2020). While I am determining the academic sources on
volunteering in tourism I understand that there are several ways through which I can determine
sources such as secondary method as well as primary method. Primary source are mainly
showcase original as well as direct evidence. They are generally developed by a person who have
personal experience of something. Moreover, ordinary primary sources are the historical
documents such as transcript of the oral history or data of interview and many more. It also
include raw data from the experiments or demographic records.
Furthermore, during gathering academic source on volunteering of tourism I determined I
can also adopt secondary source, that is draw on the primary source. They generally comment on

the primary source or use evidence through primary source in order to construct an argument. I
determined that book and journals articles which analyse, synthesise or critique a huge range of
sources are considered as example of secondary sources. While using the secondary academic
sources researcher or other person will conduct evaluation of another person research to identify
the authenticate and reliable information (Qi, 2020). In addition to this primary sources are
generally first hand collected information whereas the secondary source are all ready existing
information or data that help in gathering authenticate and reliable information successfully.
In addition to this, while I am find academic sources on Volunteering in tourism I also get
to know that when we use academic sources in project we need to do citation for that. There are
several situation in which citation is necessary such as when we use quotes and complete line in
paraphrase. I also need to do citation when I use idea of some other person which is already
expressed as well as I must use it when I will use someone's else idea or work in order to
generate my idea. During understanding about it I determined that there are several types of
referencing styles which I can used when I use exiting academic sources for gathering
information on volunteering in tourism. First type is harvard style whole reference style is

Cognus Publications.” and its citation or in texting will be done like (Ranawat, Shekhawat and
Ranawat, 2012). Next type of referencing style which I get to known during this is APA style
which formate is “Pears, R., & Shields, G. J. (2019). Cite them right: the essential referencing
guide. Macmillan International Higher Education.” Its in texting will be done like (Pears and
Shields, 2019). I also get to know that when I use academic sources through existing book and
journals on the topic volunteering in tourism I need to conduct citation.
