The effective academic skills are very necessary to be possessed as because they help in
enhancing the effective processes. These are the effective & efficient strategies which are being
applied for enhancing my process of learning. In order to acquire high grades in my school,
effective learning needs to be enhanced by me.
With the help of effective academic skills, I can become a successful graduate. I feel very
confident when acquiring effective academic skills. I try to participate more in the decision
making process among the various effective groups of my school. These skills also help me to
enable effective learner. I can attain academic success which can reflect my highest level of
effectiveness & potential. My effective academic goals can be set in the form of “SMART”
goals. S stands for “Specific” which states that my goals must be set specifically as to what goals
I need to exactly achieve, how I can achieve, from where, when & also with whom I can attain
my defined goals. M stands for “Measurable” which involves those goals which can be measured
in an effective manner. The long-term measurable goals need to be determined so as to enhance
the effective academic skills (Titz & Karbach, 2014). A stands for “Attainable” which states that
I need to check that whether the defined goals can be attained & achieved by me or not. The
goals must be achieved in a limited time period. R stands for “Relevant” whether the defined
goal which is to be achieved by me will be relevant or not. T stands for “Timely” which
describes that the goals which are being set by me must not consume more time & must be
achieved in the limited amount of time period. The flexible time limit must be set to attain the
entire short as well as the long-term goals. I need to maintain the high level of positivity in
setting up of the SMART goals as because only then my focus will be increased & the defined
goals will be attained in a disciplined manner. I must also consider the feedback points which are
being given by my academic teachers so that I can make & implement the necessary changes in
my academic skills in a better way. The complete picture must be enhanced by me in order to
attain the SMART goal in the realistic form. The overall desirable outcome needs to be enhanced
for the complete process of SMART goal setting.
