The referred article is an academic journal article that presents conceptual theories in
the context of postcolonial communication and media studies. The academic journal aims to
provide affinities between two domains and establish how the disciple of communication and
media studies can benefit people from the commitment of post colonialism towards the
understanding of the vast historical account and its legacies of colonialism. The journal
further points out the future research trajectory in the context of post colonial communication
and media studies. The journal follows a rhetorical structure that make the standpoint clear as
I develops the questioning statement before elaborating the concepts and theories associated
with it. The source is well presented with proper and well developed thesis statement.
However, the academic journal is quite lengthy and might fail to retain the interest of the
reader. The paper contains lot of complex sentences that is not appreciable in most of the
cases as complex sentence may lead to confusion or misunderstanding regarding the context
delivered in the proper.

The referred source is a government report that aims to deliver reports on the
implementation of the sustainable development in the environment and society of Australia.
The report focuses on to provide plans that is built with aim of implementing sustainable
global orders to reduce poverty and ensure prosperity and peace of the people. The report
provides well detailed information regarding the ways and methods of encouraging the
sustenance of healthy environment. The report also involves the contributions of scientific
expertise in order to develop and improve the methodology of sustainable development goals.
The report contains an in depth insights and knowledge of valuable ideas, strategies and

information regarding the practices that is meant hold to the sustainability in the
surroundings. The Australian programs focuses on the plans of planting trees, harvesting
storm water, supporting community and many more initiatives. However, the report lacks in
raising lot of other issues related to the immigrants, mining issues, urbanization land clearing
and many more. The report ultimately is recognized to be a credible source as it contains well
detailed reports and concerning matters properly.
Topic 3: Williams, G., 2016. Economic impacts from development of the Coastal Town
in Queensland on tourism and regional economy. Resources, 5(4), p.48.
The referred article is an organizational report that is based on the hospitality and
tourism industry and its management. The paper provides the report of Australian economy in
the arena of tourism industry, a place that is recognized as one of the most famous tourist
destinations. The paper delivers a research study on the impacts of the coastal areas and the
economy of the tourism industry. Based on which the evaluations and further reports are
made. The paper through its research analysis, measures the extent of the respondent’s
potentials towards the adaptive measures that is associated with reduced prices,
implementation of certain effective measures that aims to protect the beaches form soil
erosion, coastal areas form inundation. The paper, thereby aims to deliver or emphasize the
significance of the understanding of the innovative implementation that would be able to with
stand drastic climate change. The paper provides a good presentation of the content matter
and is well oriented with proper headings and successfully serves the purpose of the
document. However, the report could add pictures in order to create the content matter with
more intense significance, especially the impacts experienced by tourism industry. The paper
lacks to deliver multiples case studies depending on which the paper could have appeared to
be more relevant in projecting out the issues that affects the tourism industry.

The referred source is a news article based on the unprecedented bushfire crisis in
Australia that has emerged out to be one of major concern with respect to the social factor as

well as environmental factor. The news media focuses on the deliverance of the unfavourable
waves that have reverberated across the many months. It further provides the narratives of
personal tone delivering different perspectives of the four news editors namely, Mike
Ticher, Helen Davidson, Graham Readfearn and Calla Wahlquist regarding the wildlife
disaster, misinformation through social media and the overreaching consequences of the
crisis witnessed in the climate. The news restores the media communication through reports
on individual experiences that are gained through the course of their reportings. The source
contains well oriented structure that involves the four different personal experiences of the
news reporters. However, it lacks statistics or the facts and figures that is generally required
to make the news article look more authentic and credible source. In addition, it is to mention
that that the headline or the topic given to the news article could have been more creative.
This is because it is the prime factor that grabs the attention of the viewers. Thereby, with
respect to such serious and disastrous event, the headline require to carry more weightage.
Part 2 – Critical Analysis
The introduction of media effects and its theories is evident in the news article,
‘Reporting on the Australian fires: 'It has been heartbreaking' as it highlights the freedom of
the press. It delivers the information focusing on the public sphere. The news article aims to
create an awareness in different regions and educate the surrounding by elaborating the
significance of the facts. The media effects incorporated in the news influences the behaviour
and attitude of the people. The news article involves narratives of personal tone that ensures
to makes the article more convincing for the readers to believe regarding the experiences that
has been shared in the news. And further reveals the concepts of Gratification Theory, that is
predominantly associated with personal integrative experiences. The method of delivering the
experiences carries a major purpose that is, to retain a strong bond with the readers. The news
is associated with the utilization of individual level effects. The incorporation of the effects
participates in the facilitation of accurate and independent information that is projected as the
best interest of the public. Thereby, the news article relies on the power of the freedom of the
press.
However, there are various other types of media article that reverberates certain
patterns of conveying the underlined message through reports, journals, blogs and many
more. In the government report, “Report on the implementation of the Sustainable
Development Goals”, the pattern of the article appears to associate with the idea of

Cultivation Theory. This is because the report is based on the resolving certain issues through
plans and strategies that is required to be assessed by the government as well as the citizens
with an attitude of willingness. Thereby, it is the beliefs, values, attitudes that needs to be
paid attention in the context of improving the surrounding. The report is identified to be a
dynamic process in terms of integrating the aspects, opinions of the experts and beliefs so that
further steps can be taken forwards in accordance with the support of mass publics.
