P1 Scale and size of accommodation services in hospitality industry
The accommodation services are related to providing guest accommodation and related
services that are paid on a one-night basis to travellers who come in different cities for various
purposes (Brochado and Pereira, 2017). The scale and size of accommodation services can be
depicted from following graphs :
Number of hotels in UK and other major countries :
UK USA Australia Malaysia
0
10000
20000
30000
40000
50000
60000
Country
Interpretation : From the above graph it can be seen that Malaysia has highest number of hotels
as it is a tourist spot and is famous for its natural beauty (Marcoz and et. al.,2016). UK have
expensive hotels and is also an expensive country so number of hotels are comparatively low.
P2 Different forms of ownership in accommodation services
Following types of ownerships are found in accommodation services : Privately owned hotels : These hotels are privately owned by owners which means that
the owner is free to manage the activities of the hotel but also has to take all the risks
associated with it (What are the 5 Different Sectors of Hospitality Industry?. 2019). Leased hotels : These are privately owned but is practically run by other persons, lessor
and lessee are agreed upon a lease agreement for a specified period of time.
Managed hotels : These hotels are run by a management company which is hired by a
person who has invested in the hotel. The management team takes all the decisions
related to its operations.

P3 Role of grading, classification system and online site review
Grading system helps in deciding the service standards of hotels to customers so that they
can evaluate the various hotels and choose the one that best suites their requirements.
Classification system helps the customers in recognizing the quality, prices, facilities etc. that are
offered by various hotels based on different criteria (Kruja and et. al., 2016).
Online review sites like Google, Agoda etc. are used by visors before booking hotels and helps in
knowing the reviews of other customers based on their experiences.
