Case analysis
In this case, cash control problem faced by James Zhang who owns and manages a
restaurant at the Macquarie Shopping Center have been taken into consideration. It is
evaluated that due to the cumbersome cash collecting process, James has faces several
problems and decrease in the cash collections as compared to the estimated cash collection.
Steps of problems solving
Identification of the issues
The main issue which James Zhang who owns and manages a restaurant at the
Macquarie Shopping Center has faced is related to assessment of cash collection in the
business and how he could implement proper surveillance process for its cash collection.
James had the main doubt when he asses the cash collection which should be higher than the
usual when his friends visited his restaurant for the meal (Buyya, Yeo and Venugopal, 2008).
Assessing the internal and external factors
It is considered that the cash collection process of Macquarie Shopping Center is handled by
several staff members. Therefore, it is hard to identify the person who might have
manipulated the cash collection of the company. The main problem is related to manual cash
collection process of Macquarie Shopping Center. This problem has arisen due to the
mishandling of the cash collection process by the several staff members of the Macquarie

After evaluating all the details of this case study, it is analysed that Macquarie Shopping
Center needs to install cyber computing enterprise resources planning to promote online cash
collection methods in its business. These online cash collection methods will diminish all the
problems and issues of manual cash collection methods. This will allow James to have proper
surveillance on the cash collection process and it will also help him to identify all the cash
inflow and outflow of money. These advanced technologies will help him to compute
possible cash inflow and outflow of money and help him to compare with the overall
turnover of the company. This is the advanced mechanism which will promote the online
cash surveillance and integrity of the other staff members in the Macquarie Shopping Center.
Therefore, it could be inferred that by using cyber computing enterprises resources planning
in the business, James could easily curb the cash matching problems in determined approach
(Isshaq, et al. 2009).
Implementing new cyber computing system in Macquarie Shopping Center
It is observed that in order to install new cyber computing system in Macquarie Shopping
Center will require re-engineering of value chain activities of the business. This will not only
help in automating in the business process of organization but also implement proper level of
cash matching control program in business. Therefore, it could be inferred that if this system
is implemented at the cash counter of the Macquarie Shopping Center then it would establish
online internal control system of the business (Marston, et al. 2011). Nonetheless, James
needs to evaluate all the internal and external factors before implementing this new program.
Review of the implemented new program
It is evaluated that Macquarie Shopping Center needs to change its business structure and
adopt advance machines in its business for the better internal control system of the
organization. However, it will require employees to learn use of advance technical system in

the business. In addition to this, this new system will also establish the internal control
system in the business to check all the cash inflow and outflow of the money in the
Macquarie Shopping Center (Xu, 2012).
Conclusion
After evaluating the case of Macquarie Shopping Center, and problems faced by James
in cash collection, it is considered that the main reason of decreasing the cash collection in
his business is related to less effective internal control system. Therefore, James by installing
cyber computing system could easily implement proper internal control system. Now in the
end, it could be inferred that installing cyber computing system and changing cash collection
process are the key steps to control the manipulation of the cash in the business of Macquarie
Shopping Center.
