In the present scenario, most of the businesses are based on the information
technology (IT), which has required for improving performance and productivity. In addition,
business processes can be managed using emerging technologies and innovations based on
the requirements (Belfo & Trigo, 2013). Financial management is necessary in the business.
Thus, it can be managed using accounting information system (AIS) as well. Moreover, AIS
will be the future of most of the industries for managing their accounting business processes
(Chang, 2011). This report will analyse and articulate business process. Besides, it will
provide role of AIS in enhancing business process design as well. In addition, Apex
Plumbing Ltd was founded in the year 2018. The firm has provided various services to their
customers including wholesale supplier of plumbing equipment and other services. This
report will provide strengths and weaknesses of the company and its business process model
as well.
Overview of the company
The company has based on the plumbing business, as it has supplied different
equipment for plumbing. It is a place for professional plumbers as well as home-improvement
centre (Darwin, 2016). the company has employed more than 200 people in the various
processes, such as warehouse, buyers, technical representative, sales and office staff. The
company is facing competition in the market from Robinson Ltd and Southern Plumbing
Supplies Ltd. Besides, the current information system has not supported the company.
In addition, 17 employees have worked as full-time workers. The company has
worked in traditional ways. Moreover, there are many good things in the systems, which are
better for the company. The company has used email and telephone for communication.
Customer’s order has manged using centralized sales order system (Draheim, 2010).
The company has managed data of their customers for better relationship in the future
as well. In addition, a clerk can manage sales operation in the warehouse department. The
clerk can send a copy to the sales department based on the requirement as well as shipping
department. All the inventory has updated from a single place (Gillett, 2016).
The shipping department has generated three copies of a bill, which is used with
goods and carrier. Most of the things can be used for managing internal resources as well.
