ACCOUNTING SELF REFLECTION ESSAY
Introduction
Before joining the accounting class, I had a massive problem in solving problems related
to accounting. Moreover, since I was in the lower grade of my education I had never gotten a
chance to have an interactive discussion group. My perception of group work was negative, and I
was totally against working as a group. I viewed groups as the basis of rumor mongers and also
that most groups are filled with jokers; hence no serious activity takes place in a group. I had
poor teamwork skills as it would only attend a group meeting and come out without sharing any
ideas or solution.
Reflection experience
After joining this class, the first chapter was a clear reflection and a revision of a previous
unit ACCG100. This chapter helped me improve my problem-solving skills such as
accountability and stewardship. This chapter more so helped me to be able to interpret a problem
and analyze it. The first assessment on MYOB software was tuff for me as I was unable to open
the software, but with the guide of my fellow colleges and also by getting involved in the MYOB
assessments I was able to eliminate those barriers hindering me from operating the software.
Team activities helped me with ideas which enabled me to be more active and contributed during
group meetings.
By the use of several tutorials, I have been able to learn and understand the process of
preparing bank reconciliations in MYOB software. Through the MYOB assessment, I was able
to develop my communication skills. In chapter four I was prepared through the MYOB
evaluation, to get a hint on account receivable and their use in MYOB. Through participating in
