INTRODUCTION
Academic as well as employability skills are important for having development of an
individual during a course of life. Academic skills refers to methods that are implemented in
learning as well as it is important in achieving success for higher level of education and getting
an employment (Fine,and Rush, 2018). Whereas employability skills is referred as soft skills,
team work, problem solving as well as interpersonal skills. This report is based on practical
portfolio of academic as well as employability skills of a marketing manager of a retail company.
This report includes analysis and determination of skills which are needed by a marketing
manager so as to carry well with SWOT analysis, PDP and time management tools are explained
along with its conclusion.

As self analysis or reflection is performed by an individual by a motive of determining,
analysing as well as reviewing work as well as performing reflection of learning results(Saleh
Alkali and Hamidu 2018). It is said to be a process of improving learning capacity of an
individual with using of strategies as well as techniques that are needed to carry an effective
self awareness and self reflective activities. As self awareness provides helps to an individual in
different factors like evaluation of work duties against planned criteria, determining strengths or
weaknesses in relation to planning and setting of skills as well as knowledge, reflection of
model and way of learning as well as processes along with impact of their performance over
different individuals (Gabbianelli, and Pencarelli,2020). By using Gibbs reflective cycle that
consists of description, feelings, evaluation, analysis, conclusion following by action plan that
offers a deep knowledge of data as well as information related through an incident and
situation. Gibbs reflection model stages are explained as follows:
Descriptive: This stage of gibbs reflection model consists of description of any event or a
situation that is supported by some of questions like what has happened? What did I

personality development. These skills are important for me to survive in a competitive
surrounding and have enhanced my confidence as well as satisfaction level to a high extent.
Along with that presentation skills are implemented by me in company to make business
presentation along with developing an effective training programmes for employees. As
academic writing skills are efficient in designing as well as developing a concise, structured,
clear and messages that an intercommunication takes place in a company(Gesualdi, 2019). As I
have analysed that I have been average in these skills and requires some amount of enhancement
so as a result it leads in communicating with top level management that is generally done in a
formal or structured way.
Feelings: As time management has contributed towards effectiveness of management of
business operational tasks. As I feel positive as well as confident with these skills as I
can manage customers easily and promote my company at higher runs. Superiors as well
as subordinates at work place appraise and appreciate my skills and helps in managing
things with comfort and effectiveness(Punjani, Krunal, 2018).
As public speaking as well as presentation skills has an important impact on behaviour
of employees. With my effective influencing and positive speech subordinates feels motivated,
confident in carrying performance level. Academic writings are important in expressing
opinions, ideas and beliefs that are openly as well as clearly to team workforce. As along with
employees and other team members that gets a sense of professionalism by academic writings.
Evaluation: As time management skills has allowed me to consider different activities
which were on priority list along with strong time management tactics. I have managed
customers as well as work to a wide extent. As without having proper time management
