objective attainment. For the project, selected company is Ace Solution that operates within

evaluates opportunities and challenges that are posed by green computing. Moreover, it explains
and analysis the ways to address green computing requirements that are related to app, BIS
Solution and business strategy. It also explains theory and application of it.

packaging the items in the way which is demanding by the customers. The app which the
company has planned to launch would help the customer’s order the products and also they can
provide the decorative packaging to that product. Through the app it will get convenient for the
customers to put their orders irrespective to the place they are living. Through the BIS the
company would be able to save and store the necessary information about the company's
operations so that the decision can be taken in an effective manner. The objective of BIS is to
store the information about the company's operations at single platforms through which they can
excess and perform all their operational activities.
Proposal to address the reduction of computing resources in the environment
To reduce the impact, it is very necessary to turn off the computers or the systems when
they are not in need. The organisation should also use the management power management
settings which are now available at every new computer systems. Power management system
enables to determine whether the system needs to go in hydrate mode or in sleep mode
whichever consumes the less electricity. The other way of reducing the impact of computer
resources is to turn off all the peripherals like keyboard, printers, speakers, video gaming
systems and so on. The usage of a laptop or tablet consumes the less energy as compared with
the consumption of the computer desktop (Amarilli, Van and Van Den Hooff, 2017). Apart from
this the computers needs to buy which belongs to the category of energy efficiency and reduces
the environmental impact. The systems need to buy from the label of energy star as these are
more energy efficient as compared with the computers of other brands or labels. Apart from this,
to check that whether the computer system which the organisation has purchased is suitable for

used computer systems. Some of these people organisation main include schools, organisations,
people with low income, government Sector and so on. Schools by computer desktops for
student in computer laboratory to make them study about the use of computers. The schools get
it in the lower cost and benefits them for around two to five years. Apart from this the
government organisation also acquire the used computer systems as they may get it in the lower
cost and benefits the organisation for around 5 years. Reusing the resources is a good thing for
environment also as a very less number of resources would be needing in reusing it as compared
to purchasing a whole new system. Apart from this the materials and the cost of production also
get save to a certain level (Barata. and Cunha, 2017). The organisation can adopt second hand
computer system or if they want to buy the new system they need to make sure that their own
system goes to the people who could use it again for their use. Using the used computer systems
but also help the Ace solutions in saving their cost as they can acquire it in half or less than half
of its actual price. Apart from this the Ace solutions good also be contributing in saving the
environment from excessive negative use and impact of computer systems. They would be
contributed in saving the resources and decrease in wastage in the environment.
Proposal for recycle the computer systems
It has been observed that the materials which has been used for manufacturing the
computer or electronic system hampers the fertility of the soil which does not considered a good
for the humans and animals as it has damage the forest, tress, plants and etc. Therefore to save
the environment from getting harm, it has become a necessary task to recycle the electronics. To
save the environment for getting harm it is very urgent to pursue for some recycle proposal. The
Ace solutions should gives their waste electronics to the organisations where they believe it
would get recycled for the manufacturing of a new product. There are organisations which deals
with this business in which they collect all the electronics waste and then they sold that back to
manufacturing industries which later get used in the manufacturing of a new product. The
manufacturing organisation which is purchasing these waste materials also gets benefited as they

acquire these materials at the lower prices in the market. This benefits them in saving much of
their cost also.

The porters five forces frame work was proposed by Michael Porter to analyse the industry in
which the business is running. The model helps in analyzing the industry, the threat of
competition, degree of bargaining power of suppliers and buyers along with the danger of the
substitute product. Through the proper analysis the company can form the strategies which can
help them achieving their goals and objectives. This model is also used in generating higher
profits and growth. The risk can also get eliminated through this model as it can be detected
beforehand.
Threats of new entrants
The business of packaging requires no legal formalities in entrance and exits which has lead to
high number of competition. As in the case of ACE Solutions they are adopting the Green
computing where they will be saving all the important information at a single platform which
would help them in bringing ease in their operations. The number of organisation working in this
will be large as there is no barriers to entrance in the industry (Heilig and Voß, 2017). To survive
and bring growth in the organisation the ACE solution has to come up with innovative services,
products and operational activities which can help them in attaining competitive advantage in the
market. The concept of Green computing or business information system would help the
organisation to attaining the same as this will increase the productivity and reduce the
production cost of operational activities.
Threat of competition
As the ACE solutions deal with paper and packaging business, where the number of organisation
running are very large due to no or minimum barriers. The competition level is very high in this
industry. To stand alone and strong in this cut throat industry, the company has to regularly bring

factor works against the company as due to this it might have to face an immense decrease in its
sales. To avoid this threat the organisation has to frequently come up with products that are new
and innovative for the customers (Leshob, 2016). They need to invest much in research and
development department so that they could be able to bring attractive products or services for
customers.
Bargaining power of suppliers
It refers to the degree of terms and conditions accepted by companies from suppliers. An
industry where there are few numbers of suppliers, the degree of terms and conditions agreed by
the organisation is high. But whereas when the number of suppliers in an industry is high then
the terms and conditions agreed by organisation is low. The bargaining power of suppliers in this
sector is very low. There are number of suppliers available to the company from where they can
purchase the material. This factor goes in favour with company as the company can choose that
supplier that can supply the materials at the lowest price possible. As with the case of ACE
Solutions here the company can save the cost by effectively select the best supplier which can
provide the materials at low cost.
Bargaining power of buyers
It refers to the state where the price and demand of a product can be controlled by buyers. The
buyers can shift to another product easily if they believe that they are getting more advantage in
the purchase of substitute product. Buyers not only influence the price of a product but also the
cost. Customers demands for great product and services which influence the cost of the product
or service. Buyers are even ready to pay more for the great product or service. As in the case
with ACE solutions the buyers can easily shift to another company as the product the company
deals in is homogenous. To retain the customers with the company only, they has to bring up
innovative product and services which meets the demand of customers.

From the report presented above, the advantages of green computing have been provided along
with the challenges faced by the organisation. A proposed plan for reuse, recycle and reduce the
impact of computer system or electronic in the environment has been mentioned. There are
various ways through which an organisation can contribute its best in saving the environment
from getting damage from such activities. The porter’s five force model also has been proposed
in the report in relation with the green computing concept. From that model it gets find out that
this concept would directly and indirectly not only save the environment but also helps the
organisation in attaining the competitive advantage in the market.
