Top three skills
Autonomy - Level 3
Being in a software related career, I have the ability to understand the instructions given
to me and directly translate them to what they should do in the said programmes. As a result, I do
not need much monitoring as I can undertake these tasks properly.
Influence - Level 3
I am very influential and can aid in many scenarios. Among these cases is my decision-
making capabilities, whereby I am able to share ideas with other people, give recommendations
and even help in determining the risks involved in a given task. As a result, I am able to work in
any setting with all sorts of people.
Complexity- Level 3
One of the essential skills that help me in ensuring I undertake my tasks properly is my
understanding of the client’s needs. Through this, I have the ability to determine what the project
should be like, how I am to undertake my tasks and also utilize various tools as required in the
said process.
Incorporating the skills in the resume
The said skills are important to incorporate in my resume. As a software developer, it is
vitally important to ensure the employer understands both the skills and academic qualifications.
As a result, there is need to incorporate the said skills in my resume. According to Ni’amah,
Sholikhah, and Chotimah, (2017), one of the most efficient ways to incorporate these skills in my
resume is to ensure I first understand the implications of the same as well as how I should apply
these skills in my work. As a result, I must express the interest in the said skills, prove that I

definitely have them and ensure to include them in the resume. These skills will help me land a
good job as they are an added advantage in the said field of working (Topi, et al., 2015).
How do you think that you could improve your current Cover Letter to ensure that a job
application that you prepare will ‘stand out from the pile’.
The most important aspects of the cover letter are the details it provides which the
employer is able to evaluate and understand the application better. As a result, the inclusion of
some of the various skills I have as well as how I have applied them in the past will aid in
ensuring these employers know me better, thus increasing the chances of them giving me a job.
Another adjustment to be made in the cover letter is to mention some of the programming
languages I know and those which are of interest for me to learn (Sheard, et al., 2014). For
instance, Java is one of the programming languages that I wish to learn in the future, thus
integrating it in the cover letter would provide me the opportunity to obtain a job where they
anticipate the use of Java in their systems (White, 2015). Moreover, the same will be an indicator
that I am ready to learn and will do everything to improve my abilities with time.
