will be based on specific article based on active reading approaches. The study will explain four
active reading methods and their importance for students. It will also specify reflective statement
rely on description and improvement of reading technique.

In order to achieve strategic aims and objectives, each student may take approach to
utilize specific or multiple reading approaches, for purpose of obtaining higher education. There
are different forms of techniques related to reading accessible in the world that a student may use

Creating a preliminary outline-
In the academic world, most of the students prefer to utilize this reading technique, which
play vital role in success and growth of their career (G’ayratovna, 2022). Before diving into
reading a specific text of a critical chapter, they may take approach to give some time to scan the
paragraph or page for subtitles and other navigations of overall structure. It can be said that
preliminary outline is the best and most effective reading technique that drive the attention of
reading toward planning key steps that enable them to write and read proposal text.
Finding the main thesis or idea-
According to current active reading approach, learners usually prefer to find the main
idea of their study and thesis as well, which make them capable to read a content appropriately.
This technique is essential because of varied reasons, such as aid to develop better understanding
about important chapters and books. It is fact that by finding thesis, learners may ready any
content easily and understand the same. It may boost their performance and increase level of
searching skill better than last few months or weeks.
Drawing and sketching-
Each reading technique is essential and beneficial for students when they utilize that,
because it may provide unpredictable benefits to them (Sketch to Stretch, 2022). For example, by
drawing and sketching content, no matter what form of strategic information they are reading,

they may always create a Venn diagram and a mind map or timeline that enable them to
represent useful data. Draw and sketch is the best reading comprehension tactic where learners
may visualize a passage to content and then take initiative to interpret it via drawing.
Reading again and again-
Along with above, the current active reading technique also play significant role for
students success in term of developing excellent understanding about any context or useful
information that they may utilize further, especially during examination (Sun, Wang and Wang,
2021). It is fact that when a student repeatedly read a paragraph from course work they may
understand the information appropriately and use the same for varied reasons. It is the best
practice that in turn provide a lot of advantages to students in form of comprehending materials
successfully and appropriately.
2- Describing own reading habits and how I will improve my reading techniques
For purpose of obtaining higher education, I prefer to utilize several reading habits or
techniques that in turn provide multiple benefits to me. As I take approach to read any content
again and again, which help to set information in my mind that is quite common way that used
by many students. By conducting this practice I had taken pleasure of repeatedly improving my
understanding regarding an important chapter in which key information has been given and that
is need to answer specific question during my exam. Along with this, I am having another
reading habit such as visualizing. It has enabled me to form mental image about what I read to
help my comprehension of any text. It can be said that by conducting practice to read
information visually, students visualize the key features, setting and feel capable to connect with
that. Most of the time I also prefer to read with a pencil as I move my pencil or pen with
continuous reading a paragraph, which make me capable to understand single word and
comprehend their meaning as well as interrelation with other sentences. It is quite effective to
use a pencil instead of highlighters to highlight the important points or para in a book or chapter,
which students are unable to remove.
By using pencil they may remove the mark or note when ever it is essential to do or
require the same. I prefer to use this technique and have habit which enable me to underline a
key text and make circle that remind me to consider this content, during period of study
repetition. Still, having and using all above techniques and habits, I need to improve my reading

approaches, because it provides benefits to my career growth, whether it is related to personal or
professional field.
The best way to improve reading technique is key vocabulary improvement, which play
vital role in my success in term of enabling to obtain high score, in further semester than before.
Furthermore, I will improve my reading technique in term of creating notes that make my
reading and understanding process quite effective. There are different forms of sources and
methods related to note taking exist that students used and I will use to improve reading
approach (Masharipova and Mizell, 2021). Cornell note taking is the best approach that I will
utilize for purpose of gaining satisfactory outcomes and obtaining unpredictable results at the
end of my study and after examination.
CONCLUSION
On the basis of above study, it has been concluded that active reading technique
improvement has enabled students to achieve their short, long and medium term goals, which is
quite essential and beneficial for them. Furthermore, from above discussion, it has been
identified that appropriate strategies consideration and utilization has improved reaching
techniques in effective and useful manner.
