This case study analyzes the accounting information system of Adam & Co., focusing on its expenditure cycle, inventory management across Thailand, China, and Vietnam, and internal control weaknesses. The study presents system flowcharts for the purchase, cash disbursement, and payroll systems, illustrating the flow of information and processes within each department. It identifies potential risks and weaknesses in the system and emphasizes the importance of internal controls and risk management. The analysis covers various aspects of the business, including purchase orders, inventory management, cash disbursements, payroll processing, and internal control weaknesses. The study concludes with recommendations for improving the system and ensuring its effectiveness. The assignment aims to understand and explain the place of an accounting information system in the context of the organizational structure and operating practices, identify, analyze and compare different types of accounting information systems and use different methodologies to evaluate various accounting information systems.
