INTRODUCTION
Business technology is a concept or strategy that helps the organisation to manage
activities effectively according to the customers point of view and what they expect from the
company. The company use new technologies in comparison with their competitors so that they
meet the market demand. Business technology can have both positive as well as negative impact
on their organisation (Bhatnagar, 2018). The following report is based on TESCO. It is the
multinational groceries retailer and expanded its retailing in books, electronics, software and so
on. The report below is consist of current business issue that is based on “adapting to new
technology”, reflective writing and personal development plan.

Adapting to a new technology can affect the organisation in both positive and negative way.
However, every company tries that while using a new technology they meet consumer demand
and maintain their position in a positive way. Below report is based on impact of technology on
businesses and how it is affecting the organisation in both positive and negative way.
Positive Impact: Growing the markets: This is the most important advantage of new technologies. When a
organisation wants to compete globally then various innovations should be made to meet
consumer demands. The main innovation can be done through the use of Internet .The
company can offer their products online also with proper product description. If
customers are not free for face-to-face interaction then company can provide this facility
to meet their needs. Be competitive: In today's world there are millions of competitors with whom business
has to compete. Even the small business has to compete with other businesses. So, while
adapting a new technology the company tries to keep their customers engaged
(Carayannis, 2018). Increase in productivity: Technology increases productivity of the company. If a
company is adapting a new technology like people are working from different locations
and interacting from anywhere in the world so it looks like company has the proper team

who is working together to satisfy the consumer demands (Meissner and Shmatko,
2019). People with physical disability: Technology made great impact on people who have the
physical disability. People who can't come to purchase the products they can purchase it
through online facility.
 Accuracy: Technology gives accurate data and there is no chance of making mistakes. All
the data is observed through advanced technology.
Negative Impact: Security issues: The use of new technologies has led to issue of security as all the
business data can be ruined by hackers. When there was not much of technology
companies used to hire security guards but now chance of ruining the data increased. Lack of interpersonal communication: Technology has reduced interpersonal relationship
among the team members in office as all the people connect more through chat programs
like Skype instead of connecting with them in the office (Fonseca, Conde and García-
Peñalvo, 2018). Training of employees: As the company adapts a new technology employees need to
trained for using that technology. While spending more time on giving training to
employees the interaction with customers decreases.
 Disruption: There are many competitors in the market who uses various technologies so
major disruptions can occur for business. If one company is adapting a new technology
then other competitor can adapt that and will lead to a disruption for the business. Due to
these disruptions company has to change the technology rapidly.
The below analysis is based on TESCO:
It is largest multinational brand which deals in food and groceries and is now diversified in
electronics and telecom services.
Positive impact of technology:- Stock Counter: Technology has made the lives of employees easier while counting the
stock. Now, the products are counted and removed automatically while entering or
leaving the store.

 If this then than: The brand has improved both online as well as offline shopping easier.
Through this app, customers gets an automatic mail if there is any price change in
products. Mobile payment app: A new mobile payment app, PAYQWID, was introduced which
helps the customers to use in the store while doing shopping.
Negative impact of technology:- Advertising cost: While enhancing the online marketing, advertising cost for the brand
increases (Guo and et. al., 2020). When the brand has to compete in the crowded sector,
more focus is done on advertising their products to attract all the customers. Latest security systems: The growth of technology has led to more crimes being done by
hackers. So, the brand had to invest more in security systems to protect their website and
the reputation of the organisation.
 Website costs: While enhancing the new technology, website costs increases. TESCO has
managed a large sales volume but for that they had to invest on planning and designing
their websites.

Reflective Writing
I have learnt various information from the above module as it is completely dependent on
advancement and implication of technology as it is also be suitable to my personal course of
learning and development. In this I have enhance my learning skill set within which
programming skills and its language is enhanced under which I have also apply C, C++ and
many other languages as well. In addition to this I have worked to induce common operating
system through which working efficiency and its effectiveness is increases in productive manner.
As per concern of various factors I have induce better understand about project management and
technical writing within which capabilities to induce perfection among working standards is
developed over a longer period of time. For this balanced level of advancement within working
standards is enhanced as with this there productivity is enlarged so that working efficiency is
also get maintained. I have worked for to enhance practical skills and development within which
technological skills, scientific abilities and mathematical formulation is induced under which
technological advancement and its issues are resolved over a continuous period of instance. For

instance, I have make supportive usage of programming languages, mechanical equipments,
designing and programming is introduced with support of various tools and techniques.
This learning is basically an essential prospect as it enhance the level of existence by
which information and its productiveness is increases by making continuous learning. It also get
nourished the information as in this learning is processed in a form of critical thinking abilities
and skills that is completely dependent over the involvement of various technologies. I have
achieved new set of learning and in support of this knowledge up-gradation also get advanced as
with this I have learned about different technological implications under which working
credibility is enhanced on regular period of time. In this I have learned about new technological
advancement that is required to complete certain task and management of responsibilities with
effectiveness. This learning is much useful for me as in this I have able to know more about
various concepts and believe of technologies under which productiveness is enhanced over
continuous period of time.
It is a learning that is required to make productive amount of modifications by which
future abilities get secured and dependent with effectiveness. The learning basis assist me to
make better level of implications by which overall task and activity is segmented into effective
forms under which ability to attain overall objective is enhanced over continuous period of time.
These technical skills assist me to develop my abilities, knowledge and information under which
overall need of task and project is managed and controlled with perfection. In future period of
time development plan assist to make adequate modification under which rate of productiveness
is enhanced and ordinate as with this working ability and its attractiveness is enhanced. Thus I
have make to get up-to date as with enhancement of technological improvement.
