“Understanding the impact of inequality and diversity within organisation and identifying ways
to address inequality and diversity issues”
Background
Gender and racial inequality, these are two biggest and most important element that
create diversity in the organisation and its workforce. Gender inequality is the one in which
discrimination among employees is based on the idea that man and women are not equal and this
is why women in organisation are not given equal opportunities. In this racial inequality involves
that employees are discriminated on the basis of their race. In this particular race either is
discriminated or a particular race is given priority than others (Davis, 2016). Diversity can be
defined as a state in which organisation employs and create a workforce that includes people
having different characteristics on the basis of which people can be differentiated. It is important
that when organisation have diversity it is also practice effective practices for equality because
only when organisation practices equality it will be able to get the benefit of diversity within
organisation on its performance and productivity (Panova. and Hilletofth, 2018).
Overview of the Organisation
Tommies Childcare provides early years education for children aged from 0-5 years in
UK. There are 8 sites of this organisation in UK and this was opened in 1998. The
organisation brought a change in management team in which employees of the
organisation were put at its heart. The organisation employs around 82 members in staff
in which ratio is of 6% male and 94% female (HamaAttar, 2018)

Rationale
The main reason for conducting this research is to find out what types of issues occurs
in work place in diversity and inequality. Also, why those issues occurs and how it impact on
workplace diversity. In addition, it is necessary to overcome those issues so that positive
environment is created. Moreover, to get an understanding about cultural diversity and its
impact over the company and its workers as well. This is the reason that investigator carry out
this research as it provides vast and detailed information that help in improving researcher skills
and knowledge. This study is also undertaking by investigator because of their personal and
professional interest that support in making them able to successfully completing the study and
also develop innovative ways to accomplishing future research activities.

Research Type
 Research is a process that is carried out to identify and understand new information
regarding particular topic. The topic is known as research problem and to identify and
collect the information there are two types (Benavente, 2016). Qualitative research and
quantitative research, qualitative research relies on unstructured and non numerical data.
This means that the data collected under qualitative research isbased on understanding of
concept opinion and experience. Data in qualitative research is collected through open
ended and conversation in communication. Qualitative research along with focusing on
what aspect of research also consider why aspect of research. Quantitative research on the
other hand is based on numerical data and focuses on what aspect of research. The
conclusion is drone by application of statistics and mathematical formulas. This research
is based on quantitative research type in which data is being collected numerical form.
Research Philosophy
 Research police officer is concerned with source nature and development of knowledge.
This means that research philosophy is a belief about how the data should be collected
analysed and used. Positivism research philosophy includes highly structured research in
which pimples are large and measurement is undertaken quantitatively. Interpretivism
research philosophy on the other hand includes small samples and research is best an in-
depth investigation and it is also qualitative in nature (Dougherty, Slevc and Grand,
2019). For the purpose of this research philosophy applied is interpretivism in which size
of sample is small and investigation will be carried out.
Research Approach
 Research approach can be defined as a concept through which research is plant and this
involved all the steps being undertaken for the research. This means that details method
of Data Collection analysis and interpretation is included in research approach. Research
approach is of three types that is deduction approach induction approach and abduction
approach. Deductive research approach involves hypothesis which is letter either

confirmed or rejected by research and data collect. Inductive research approach on the
basis of observation and data collected involved developing theories. Abductive research
approach involves explanation of incomplete observation and surprising facts that are
specified while beginning the studies (Tuffour, 2017). For the purpose of this research
inductive research approach is being utilised to understand issues of inequality and
diversity in the organisation and developed theory about that.
Data Collection
 Data Collection involves collection of information data and fact concerned with research’
being undertaken. Data collection can be done through primary data collection method
and secondary data collection method. Primary data collection is the way through which
data is collected and information is gathered from the the first source of data. This means
Collection of data for the first time regarding which earlier no research and information
has been gathered. Secondary data collection includes Collection of data through
published and unpublished papers and report (Basias and Pollalis, 2018). For the purpose
of this research primary data collection approach is being utilised and data will be
collected from employees of organisation.
Sampling
 Sampling is a process of selecting people from a large population for the purpose of
collecting information and fact by way of observing or other methods of data collection.
The sampling includes members of population who can represent the complete
population for the purpose of research. There are several ways in which sampling can be
done this means that people to represent complete population can be selected by different
methods. For the purpose of this research simple random sampling will be adopted in
order to reduce the chances of bias.
Data Analysis
 Consult with research’ is one of the most important elements (Dougherty, Slevc and
Grand, 2019). Data analysis can be defined as a practice or process which is undertaken
to identify and understand the meaning of information gathered. Analysis of data
contributes in developing conclusion and in case of this search developing theory based
on the information collected. Data analysis can be done in two forms that is thematic data
analysis and statistical data analysis. Thematic data analysis method is utilised when

research is qualitative in nature and statistical data analysis is the one in which is of
quantitative nature (Mikhieieva. and Waidmann, 2017).
Ethical Consideration
 In relation with this research’ it can be considered that research has been undertaken in
complete ethical manner. The data collected does not include any data of personal nature
and privacy of respondent has been effectively maintained (Basias and Pollalis, 2018).
Along with this neither of the elements concerned with research in world any activity
which is ethically offensive . Concerned with ethics questions also has been developed
that does not include any offensive element that is unethical (Viardot, 2017).

Interpretation – in order to attain aims and objectives, a study was done in Captify to find out
issues in inequality and diversity and how it can be solved through recruitment. For that
primary data was gathered of 30 participants. In that it was analysed that 21 said yes diversity is
important in creating positive culture and 9 said no. So, it is stated that without diversity
positive culture can not be developed. It is because in diversity people from different caste,
creed, color, etc, work together. They share views with one another and also respect ethics and
values of other. So, in this way a diversified culture is developed at work place.
