Gender Inequality refers to a social process under which the men and women are not
treated as equal (Antonucci and et.al., 2019). Thus, it can be said that it is still prevalent in the
society and therefore can create a lot of problems and issues particularly for the women as they
face discrimination in the different areas. It is a big issue in the society and it is essential that the
right actions are taken in order to solve the problems and issues which are faced due to it.
There are different causes of Gender Inequality. Some of these causes are Uneven access
to education, Lack of employment equality, Job segregation, Lack of legal protections, Lack of
bodily autonomy, Poor medical care, Lack of religious freedom, Lack of political representation,
Racism and Societal mindsets. Thus due to the influence created by these particular causes the
gap between Male and Female has widened a lot.
In the Developing Countries, this issue is quite widespread. This is so because in these
countries the gap between males and females has extended a lot. Thus this gap is evident in the
activities in which the males and females take part in where there the females have to face a lot
of discrimination.
The wide impact of this issue is also seen in Education (Hipp and Bünning, 2020). In
some developing countries, there is a lack of access to proper education particularly for the girls.
Thus, In this way it can be said that this can affect the girls a lot. Some of the girls remain
illiterate throughout their life due to this particular reason. Some girls are only able to study to a
particular level only. Therefore, In this way it can be said that this is a serious issue which has to
be considered by the governments of different countries in the world.
Further, it can be said that Gender inequality remains a major barrier towards human
development (Kim, Fitzsimons and Kay, 2018). Girls and women have made major strides since
1990, but still they have not gained gender equity yet. They are discriminated in health,
education, political representation, labour market etc. which creates negative consequences for
development of their overall capabilities and their overall freedom of choice.
Thus, it has become absolutely crucial that the gender inequality can be reduced by
taking of different types of measures (Adams, 2018). There can be an use of fair and equitable
procedures so that sexual discrimination can be addressed. Training can be conducted so that an
inclusive workplace is created. Unconscious bias training can also be considered for this
particular purpose. Building of diversity and inclusion into the culture can also be done by
making its use. Reviewing of the leave policies can also be done for this purpose. Also

compliance with pay equity laws can be considered. Conducting of a pay equity audit can be
done. Also, a flexible approach can be adopted for this particular purpose.
Also, through providing equal opportunities it can be ensured that the girls and women
are empowered enough to take their own decisions in a proper manner. This will be quite helpful
in ensuring that they are able to learn to take the right decisions.
If the governments of the countries are able to increase the awareness of the girls
regarding Gender Equality then it will be highly helpful for them to be able to ensure that they
can take the right actions for the purpose of reducing the gap between them and the boys. For
this, it is crucial that a proper access to the Education is provided to the girls which will thereby
help them to be able to ensure that they can learn about their own rights which can be used by
them in the future.
It is also essential that the equal rights are provided to the girls which can be highly
helpful in ensuring that they are able to take up the opportunities which will be provided to them
in the future. This will be quite helpful for them to ensure that they are able to end the
discrimination against them.
Also the governments of the countries should be able to take the different types of
initiatives which will be quite helpful in ensuring that the gender inequality can be reduced in the
right manner. This will help a lot in leading towards providing of better opportunities to the girls
which will thus lead towards them to ensure that they are able to use these opportunities in the
right manner effectively and efficiently.
