Question 1
Answer:
To address the negative social effects of mass media it can surely be said that there are
numerous effects of mass media which are not desired in many ways. The role of mass media is
to create a steady and strong relation to the provided phenomenon because of persuasion. After
considering the biological nature, an individual is of course subjected to some sort of persuasion,
infectivity and imitation (Sparks 2015). Therefore, the fundamental nature of mass media is
being active and putting a task in order to inspire something in the society as generally
individuals cannot supervise the influence that has been directed on them and they are actually
powerless on such occasions. Promotion is another negative impact of mass media and for a
handful of years this has been fulfilling a huge number of ways to manipulate public
consciousness that are effective and have the capability to influence the mass in a specific way
(McCombs 2018). On the other hand misinformation provided by media has a huge negative
impact on the society and that creates significant disruption and harms the societal balance.
Question 2
Answer
There can be lots of ways to deal with the negative effects f mass media and also to
negate them for the benefit of the society. It can be said that the best possible solutions are not to
react immediately after reading or listening to anything on media as in any time a counter of that
news can become public (Berns 2017). Not only that, it can definitely be said that there is a huge
difference between informative and provocative news and it is a matter of fact that generally

individuals are unable to differentiate between these two and that makes it even easier for the
people who makes such provocative news to manipulate target audience. Apart from that of
individuals do not judge by looking at the headlines and instead go through the entire news that
might help the situation. Besides the individuals working in the mass media sector should
understand that they are responsible for the negative impacts if mass media on the society and
should make sure that no misinformation is being delivered and no individual is able to utilize
mass media for personal benefit (Bertrand 2018).
