Introduction
In the year 2014, Adelaide Showground Station was opened, replacing the temporary
Showground Station. It was constructed on a yearly basis for the show and required much costly
upgrade for the accommodation of some electric infrastructure (Eyre 2018). The new station
provides much better access to bicycle users and traveler carrying prams or in a wheelchair. This
has around 1 million users for showground at each and every time of the year.
The coming part of the report deals with project outcome and success factors behind the
“Adelaide Showground Station” project.
Project Outcome
Some of the outcomes of Adelaide Showground Station project has been discussed
below:
Integration with Adelaide Showground: It generates around 1.2 million visitors on
yearly basis. They come here to attend and to promote some popular events inclusive of Adelaide
show. In the last ten years, every September, a temporary station has been constructed in order to
service Adelaide show (Razzaghmanesh, Beecham and Salemi 2016). The construction of this
station provides a permanent service for all the events boosting patronage and reducing all the
ongoing cost. The station provides an excited approval point to the showground.
Better Cycle Connection: In order to locate Adelaide Showground Station, south of
Highway which provides the opportunity for connecting and building on current bicycle and
pedestrian network (Kerzner 2017). It aims to connect both stations that is Showground’s, local
street networks, and Greenhill road.

Enhanced Connection: The station also improved the connection and better access for
different train users in between Seaford and Belair lines.
Better access to Hospital: This project ultimately enhanced the access for different
people visiting and working in Ashford hospital (Meredith, Mantel Jr, and Shafer 2017). The
new station is much closer than old Keswick station and makes the connection much easier.
Disability access: The station has been designed in such a way that it can provide
complete disability access. The station feature some elements like platforms for much easy and
safe access to most of the rail services.
Enhanced visibility: As this station was located below the level of station. So, it was very
much difficult to see from the Highway (Fleming and Koppelman 2016). New Adelaide
Showground is much visible from the street, making much safe and easy to get.
Visually appealing: This station has been designed to be completely durable, functional,
and safe in nature (Marchewka 2016). All the design elements is inclusive of safety, passive
surveillance, and feature lighting.
Success factor of project
There are mainly four dimension for the overall success this Adelaide Showground
Station project. The very first parameter is all about meeting the design goals where refers to
contract signed with client (Eyre 2018). The second aspect is the benefit received to end-users,
benefit to customers from the view point of end products. The third aspect is the benefit gained
to the developing organization due to execution of this project. The last parameter is all about
technological infrastructure of the organization which are involved in technological development

(Razzaghmanesh, Beecham and Salemi 2016). The combination of these four parameter
ultimately leads to overall success of project.
Construction Industry, due to its nature standout be bit complex with high risk in this
competitive business market (Kerzner 2017). This stand out to be as one of the major
contributors for national economy and has multiple impact of the country. Success of
construction project is becoming bit difficult in present environment. With ongoing changes in
the construction industry, it becomes very much curious for researcher with previous finding to
become obsolete and inability to reflect on the present position (Meredith, Mantel Jr and Shafer
2017). Analyzing the main success factors in various project stand out bit challenging.
The success factors of the project are discussed below like
 New platform which service both Belair and Seaford lines.
 New footbridge over the railway lines and station platform
 Highway connecting station north side of the Keswick Bridge.
 A lift needed for easy access to station platform from the footbridge.
 Rail for bicycle parking
 Proper fencing across the perimeter of Station
 Proper landscaping and urban design features across the station and sharing of use paths
Conclusion
The above section help us in concluding the point that this report is all about “Adelaide
Showground Station”. The project was opened in the month of February. The project required a
funding of 2 billion dollars. This particular project aims to provide modern station which

ultimately enhances access, visibility, design, and convenience for most of train users. Adelaide
Showground Station has been designed in order to meet the growing need of most of the visitors.
