people so that they can grow in their career. Without education it become difficult to grow in
career. However, there are varied needs of individual in education and it depends on their
surrounding environment. Thus, according to their needs teaching plan is developed. Along with
it,
In this essay it will be discussed about a teaching plan for adults of age 22-40.
MAIN BODY
Define and analyse health education
Health education means to understand the social, biological, environmental, etc. and
other factors to promote health and prevent disease (Arnold, 2018). It is important to analyse and
understand the various factors so that disease can be prevented. Moreover, the people needs to be
literate or educate about how they can maintain their well being and health.
Nature of teaching and learning
Basically, teaching and learning is related to education. However, in context of health
education it means to analyse factors and try to promote health and prevent disease by educating
people. In addition to that, in this teaching means to make people aware about how they can
maintain their well being. It has been found that there are many people who are not ware about
health education concept.
Mostly, the adults of age 22-40 are aware about their well being and needs but they do
not know how to apply it . The reason is because this is age where there is lack of time and high
energy spending. Also, they are not highly concerned about their health and well being. This age
requires a proper diet and care which is beneficial for adults. But it is found that most of adults
are not highly educated about health and well being. So, there is need to literate them and make
aware about their health (Asadi, and Bagheri, 2018).
Importance of structured approach, learning needs assessment developing teaching plan and
evaluating teaching plan
Before teaching adults of age 22-40 it is necessary to do health assessment. This is
because it helps in finding out what are the needs of adults, why health education is important,
etc. Apart from it, there is need to have a proper structure and approach of teaching plans as well.

This is because it gives a proper insight on what learner needs are, what must be taught to them,
what they
lack, etc. Besides that, learning needs assessment, teaching plan, delivering, evaluation, etc. all
are inter related to each other.
The learning need assessment needs to be done because it is useful in finding out what
are learning needs of adults 22-40. So, on basis of needs a teaching plan is prepared. In addition,
it identifies specific area in which teaching is required.
Importance of teaching plan is that it gives an overall framework on what to teach, how
to engage group, etc. besides, teaching plan include all relevant materials which is to be taught.
Alongside, having half knowledge is more dangerous than having no knowledge. That is why a
teaching plan is developed (Car, 2018). There are various ways by which teaching plan is
delivered. Teaching plan must be delivered so that adult get educated about how they have to
maintain their health and well being. If teaching plan is not delivered in effective way then health
education is not delivered to adults. It is important to evaluate teaching plan also so that it is
analysed whether goals and objectives of teaching plan is attained or not. Moreover, it helps in
finding out how well adults are engaged with plan. Also, areas can be determined in which there
was lack of plan. So that accordingly changes are made into plan.
Define and analyse health literacy and learning needs
Health literacy means to read, understand and use health info in order to make effective
health related decisions. It helps in preventing health problems and also from various diseases.
Also, health literacy is useful in maintaining healthy routine and well being. This is highly
important as it help individual in social, physical, mental, psychological, etc. well being. The
main purpose of health literacy is to provide accurate and precise health info to people so they
take effective decisions.
Learning needs is gap which exist between learner current knowledge and skills and
actual knowledge which they require. Thus, these needs are determined by finding out gap
between it. Similarly, adults there exist such gap as they are having knowledge of health but they
do not know how and what to do to maintain a good health (FitzPatrick,, 2019).
Benefit of assessing learning needs
It is analysed that there are many benefits of assessing learning needs. Here, one is that it
helps in finding out what knowledge does adult lacks. Thus, this is considered and then those

needs are analysed in it. Another is that it shows that what leaner aims are and what is required
for them to achieve those aim. Besides that, the teacher is able to support in progress of learner.
How learning needs assessment is undertaken
Before developing a teaching plan, it is essential to undertake a learning needs
assessment so that learner needs are identified. Along with it, the assessment makes things easy
to analyse priorities of learner. There are several ways by which the assessment is taken. It
entirely depends on who are target learners. So, in this there are various steps which will be
followed. They are as below :
Which skill is needed to progress- It is first step in which it is find out that what are skills
required to progress. Also, in this target group characteristics is understood. Thus, the skills are
noted and area is identified where progress is to be made.
What are current skills- it is a step in which it is found that what are current skills of people.
Then, comparison is done for current and future skills. It enables in giving insight on what is to
be done in that (Ghaffari, and Armoon, 2018).
Find skill gap- the stage where the gap is determined by doing comparison. It is necessary to do
so that learner needs are determined. Moreover, area is find out where gap exist.
How gap can be closed- This is last stage where plan is developed that how gap can be close.
Thus, on basis of it goals and objectives are framed.
How learning needs inform development of teaching plan
The learner needs provide a framework to develop teaching plan. The needs show what is
gap that need to be removed. Also, it evaluates that what must be included in teaching plan to
fulfil needs.
Why teaching plan is important
There is great importance of teaching plan which is explained below :
Teaching and learning activities- the plan include that what are teaching and learning activities
which need to be carried out. It allows teacher to prepare for explaining topics and lessons. Thus,
teacher get overview of what are activities they have to explain (Mikael, , Cassiani, and Silva,
2017).
Assessment to check student understanding of topic- here, teacher drafts various questions that
will examine and check learner understanding of topic. It is necessary to do so that learner
knowledge is analysed. Also, teacher is aware of what he or she has planned for students to learn.

Benefit of lesson planning- this is also importance of teaching plan as here teacher is able to
examine the benefit of teaching plan. With help of plan teacher can get maintain progress of
learner and they also have sense of in which direction they have to go.
Aim and objective of teaching plan-
Here, the main objective of teaching plan is to educate adult people about health. They
will be educated about how they can maintain health and well being. Moreover, what is
importance of maintaining a good well being, how it can be done, what they need to do for that,
etc. another objective of teaching plan is to encourage adults by providing them right info about
health. It will enable in changing their attitude towards health.
What teaching methods have you used in teaching plan
There is a specified way of teaching by which the plan is implemented. It is because the
way depends on what type of plan and learner are. Similarly, there are different teaching
methods which is available. The teacher need to select suitable and relevant method for their
plan. Thus, for present teaching plan the method chosen will be personalized learning. In that
learners will be taught through presentations (Arnold, 2018). Besides that, they will be given
individual tasks to make presentations on various topics. Also, with help of personalized learning
the focus will be on learner skills to be improved and progress made. Besides, by giving
individual tasks it is easy to enhance their skills. so, this method is beneficial for each learner.
The setting will be in formal mode and might be classroom based only as it will be easier
to organize it. The target audience will be allotted a group of maximum 20 people. This will
create the seriousness towards generating awareness about health education the way it must be
conducted. The teaching plan is mainly to give a personalized training and education to the
individuals so that it can spread to more people without involving them. Such a personalized way
of learning requires a disciplined approach so that importance of diet, exercise, nutrients intake
and mental health can be promoted.
The idea is to conduct webinars so that physical presence is not a constraint. With
current situation, it will be better to use the digital mode for connecting people on the same
platform. The entire module on health education will be divided into 10 sessions for a specific
group. Each session will be 1 hour of duration and will be conducted on weekly bass. After each
session, a small assignment with a practical project will be given so that the participant can
actually do it, know the advantages and disadvantages etc. For e.g. after discussing about

nutritive content and diet, the participants will ask to follow a regime for 1 week so that they can
understand which ingredients’ to use daily and which one to eat once or twice (Asadi, and
Bagheri, 2018).
The objective is to build a generation which stands on healthy mind is the healthy way of
living forward. Being a gym lover does not mean to make muscles but be active and healthy to
perform daily activities without getting tired. It will also boost immunity and brings a balanced
approach in life and quality standards. Such organized module can later help the teaching plan to
achieve the purpose and fulfill the aims laid down.
Key learning and teaching plan informed development of teaching plan
Here, it was found that there exists a huge gap in adults about health education. They
were aware about it but they do not know how to take decisions to maintain their health. Thus,
they need to taught about health and various topics which help in their progress.
Communication theories
Along with teaching plan it is important to use some communication theories as well.
This is because communication is necessary as well. There is need to have proper
communication with learners otherwise it may led to ineffective interaction of teacher with
learner. There are different kind of well known theories for communication applicable in
teaching plan such as Linear, interactional and transactional (Car, 2018). Each and every model
sheds light on the development of communication and interaction. Sometimes, it emphasizes
different parts of communication process. These are helping to describe the clear picture, visual
representation and complex interaction. In teaching plan, it is useful for simply represent the
structure and understand not just verbally but it is also visually. Importantly, it is an essential part
in order to find various element of communication or server a kind of map to how to connect
with adults. Thus, theories of communication are explained as:
Interactional Model- this type of theory basically represents a more dynamic view of
communication, interactional model is helping for staff member to follow a two channel
interaction. It means that identify the feedback flow between sender and receiver. Feedback is
simply a response of student to teacher. The most important aspect of feedback to represent the
comprehension. It can help sender know if their message was received or understood.
Lasswell’s Model- this type of theory is all about the process of communication and its function
to society or community. When teacher uses this model in teaching in order to handle flow of

message with multi cultural society within targeting multiple audience. This is based on the flow
of message through various channels, and also similar to other one. By using this model, each
child communicates with teacher in regards of health. At some point, there are lot of questions in
regards of health resolve by teacher with the help of theory.
How approach will bring out change in attitude and knowledge of adults
This will highly bring out change in attitude of adults as they will be aware about what
they need to do to remain fit (FitzPatrick,, 2019). Besides, they will try to remain more focused
and healthy by changing their lifestyle. In addition, their behaviour will also change as they will
have influence others as well to remain fit and healthy. The health education will provide them
complete knowledge about many things. Moreover, they will be able to take effective decision
by keeping their attitude positive.
Why evaluating teaching plan is important
It is important to evaluate teaching plan also so that it is analysed whether goals and
objectives of teaching plan is attained or not. Moreover, it helps in finding out how well adults
are engaged with plan. Also, areas can be determined in which there was lack of plan. So that
accordingly changes are made into plan.
Evaluation methods used
For doing evaluation there are various types of methods which is available. This help in
analysing plan and then making changes into it. Also, there is need to select appropriate teaching
method for evaluation so that evaluation is done in proper way. Otherwise, ineffective evaluation
results in making improper changes. So, with that goals can not be attained. The evaluation
method that is used is by taking the feedback of adults. In that a questionnaire is asked to them
and they have to give answers what they have learned and how they are engaged with it
(Ghaffari, and Armoon, 2018).
CONCLUSION
Hereby, it is concluded that health education is important in adults as they lack knowledge
about it. Moreover, for that a teaching plan is developed and the method used is personalized
learning. Besides that, evaluation method of teaching plan used is feedback.
