Introduction
Effective communication in addition with good interpersonal skill generally increases the
freedom of making expression at a very greater extension. Additionally, effective interpersonal
skill also opens the door for prefabricated mutual understanding at certain extension. From
analyzing the case study, it has been found that the social adult service care did not opt to come
at a position where mutual understanding is possible. This fact also describes the fact the
members belonging from that social care service did not have any form of interpersonal skills,
which stops them from making effective communication at greater extension. Lastly, from this
assignment, a self-assessment will also be constructed by analyzing the learning outcomes at

Question 1
After analyzing the case study in a brief and efficient manner, it has been found that some basic
principles of ethics such as respect, dignity, freedom, rights and responsibilities have been
heavily affected at a very large scale. Just after analyzing the core aspects of that specific case
study, it has been found that dignity, rights and responsibilities has been affected the most in
context of that specific case study. All of those other aspects have surely been affected, but
dignity in addition to rights and responsibility has been affected the most in comparison with all
other aspects.
When the 34-year-old woman named Sarah Thompson Drayton decided to marry Daniel
Drayton, the Adult social care services belonging from their local community tried to stop them
in many different instances. They tried to stop those two people since they have some extensive
level of learning disabilities. In addition to that, they even go one-step further by stating that they
can cause even more problematic situation if Sarah Thompson Drayton and Daniel Drayton
marry with other, they will surely face lots of problematic situation in their future.
Evans et al. (2017) opined that by analyzing this specific portion of the case study, it can be
described in a proficient manner that the local social care service is not maintaining the ethics of

dignity. Not only forging Daniel to some unauthentic legal cases that social care service also
wants to make take some superior legal actions against the Daniel, who will place the marriage
ceremony on behalf of Sarah Thompson Drayton and Daniel Drayton.

This specific portion of the case study opens another window towards another unethical
principle, which was also being followed by that same Adult social care at some extension
(Shestack, 2017). As a very crucial part of principle of ethics, rights and responsibilities have
been superiorly affected by this specific incident of case study. Both Sarah Thompson Drayton
and Daniel Drayton have been affected due to this specific case. In accordance with the section 1
belonging from Mental Capacity Act, it has to be assumed that every person has their own
capacity of taking their personal decisions carefully until and unless he/she is mentally unstable

In this specific case study, it can be very easily found that both Sarah Thompson Drayton and
Daniel Drayton do not have any kind of mental instability, thus they can easily take their
personal decisions all by themselves. Legally they should not face any kind of restriction from
getting married with each other. Additionally, their rights and responsibility has been affected by
this.
In addition with all of these ethical practices, there are also some other unethical practices, which
has also been conducted by that same adult social care team. After six months of their marriage,
Sarah received a special capacity assessment from social care team. That capacity assessment has
been designed specially in order to determine whether she is able to make sexual relationship.
That social care team wanted to know whether she could get married without facing the danger
of exploitation and abuse. Any can deliver the fact that it is entirely unethical from the
perspective of both Sarah and Daniel since no one has the right of judging or even interrupting
into their personal aspects such as sexual life.
According to the chief executive of Mencap, someone who has some learning disability
obviously have their right of get married with anyone they want since it is entirely their personal
aspect. It not only is a serious heart breaking moment for both Sarah Thompson Drayton and

certainly has the right of take any decision regarding his job role. Additionally, as a mother and
mentally stable people, Sarah’s mother has the right to let her daughter marry to anyone.

Ethical behavior in addition with effective communication generally comes from some diverse
values and principles at some greater extension. In addition to that, effective communication and
ethical behavior can inform anyone about the prefabricated choices they make. Interpersonal
skills are also greatly associated with this how an individual behave and how they act it different

did not represent any form of good effective communication and interpersonal skill since they
did not try to understand even the basic perspectives of Sarah, his mother and Daniel. It can be
described as a very unprofessional and unethical work in context with that Adult social care team
at a far greater extension. They even send a capacity assessment for Sarah, which can be avoided
totally through the help of some effective communication and grater interpersonal skill. They
failed at certain extension at those parts. They did not have any form of good interpersonal skill,
which stops them take certain decisions based on some prefabricated ethical practice. It also

limits them from being a good and responsible social care team from the perspective of many
instances.
Despite the fact that Sarah failed into that capacity assignment test, the assessors who send the
capacity assessment also sated the fact that Sarah already had the very strong understanding
regarding her feelings and she can feel like normal people about marriage and any kind of
relationship. It states the fact that Sarah is actually in a very good position to become a mother
since she has a very strong affection towards different forms of relationship at a far greater
extension. In addition to that, she also has some very good qualities and abilities inside her,
which cannot be found even inside of normal people. Good interpersonal skill of that assessor
helps him/her to deliver this fact at a greater extension. He/she had the chance of making some
effective communication with Sarah for an amount of time, which helps him/her to get the idea
regarding the personality and behavioral aspects of Sarah herself. With the help of interpersonal
skill, he/she gained the capacity of judging a person effectively.
That assessor represents a prefabricated amount of dignity and respect towards Sarah through the

interpersonal skills at a much further extension. Evans et al. (2017) mentioned that in addition to
that, from different aspects of both effective communication and good interpersonal skill, it is

very much needed for that adult social care services to make some further improvement into their

he/she has some prefabricated level of interpersonal skills. Since interpersonal skill can enhance
effective communication at a larger extension, it is possible that with the help of effective
communication any individual can enhance his/her interpersonal skills at greater extension
(Martens, 2018). Since supporting a much greater extension of both dignity and respect, it is
needed for the members of that adult social care service access to promote some form of
communication opportunity and communication resources in order to represent their personal
perspectives regarding effective communication and good interpersonal skill at a much greater
extension.
Lastly, from the context of personal responsibilities, effective communication has to be adhering
into the consequences of both short and long-term perspectives. That adult care service did not
make any assumptions regarding the consequences of their actions from both long-term and
short-term perspectives at greater extensions. Thus, this incident also described the fact that the
members belonging from adult social care did not had any form of good interpersonal skill and
effective communication aspects to minimize this distorted effect (Deutsch, 2015).
That social care service represented that they are against the marriage in between Sarah
Thompson Drayton and Daniel Drayton since they think that Sarah might be in a high risk of
exploitation and abuse if she get married with Daniel into the future. However, in actual reality it

has been observed that even after six months of their marriage, both Sarah and Daniel did not
face any problematic situation at all, which help to describe the fact that the members of adult
social care fails at predicting the future result of Sarah and Daniel’s marriage. With the help of
proper interpersonal skill and effective communication, they could do right prediction at greater
extension.

Question 3
This particular study has honed my skills and knowledge in different aspects. In order to manage
the study properly, I have to acquire information from different resources that helped me to
understand the concepts of mentioned questions. In order to find out certain grounds different
ethics, dignity, rights and freedom, I had to explore certain depths of dignity, freedom and rights
that are important aspects of humanity. I had to understand basic concepts of humanity and
human behavior to understand different principles that were seen regarding wedding of Deaytons
as their wedding incident was not acknowledged by closed ones from their families. Studying
contemporary knowledge has introduced certain opportunities to me through which I understood
different aspects of humanity and it helped me to think of myself. As a result of through research
work to identify principles regarding dignity ethics and freedom rights I can say that kin daily
life we are compelled to make certain decisions that questions our freedom to do any kind of
things or say what we want to say. It certainly hampers our natural approach towards to achieve
our daily goals, as we cannot find out things that we actually want from ourselves.
In the context of individual learning process, I have learnt a great deal through the progress of
the study. In previous context, I have not had any idea regarding humanity and freedom, ethics
and dignity. I have to learn from secondary resources regarding this subject by which new
windows regarding the concept of freedom, dignity and ethics has been opened for me. On the
other hand, my ability to acquire knowledge from online database was improved, as it was quite
difficult to acquire important and appropriate knowledge to understand the certain concepts of
ethical principles. On the other hand, the second study is one of the unique one, which has
certainly improved my communication skill, and it has improved my approach as a listener and
as a speaker while communicating with people. Effective communication process holds huge
importance keeping my regular activity in my mind as effective communication have certain
mitigating powers through which I can mitigate certain challenges communication. I have learn a
great deals and strategies of communication by which I understood importance of
communication in our daily life activities.
Regarding my personal development, I can say that this process has changed my approach to
communicate with people and it has changed my thinking approach in any kind of situation. Few
