Executive Summary
The report is prepared for the preparation of the wireless network solution for the Advanced
Digital computer company. The WLAN has a recent growth of the computing industry and the
application of the wireless network helps in reducing the cabling cost and the complexity of the
network. For the development of the network the guidelines of the cross merchants should be
followed and an estimation should be made for the network device required for the development
of the WLAN network solution. The security of the wireless access point installed in different
location of the network should be analyzed for securing the access off the wireless access point
deployed in the network. The current challenges faced by the organization should be mitigated
and the network design is made flexible such that it can accommodate the growth of the
organization. The device interfaced for each of the device used for connecting the different
branches of the organization should be configured with the dual stack address i.e IPv4 and IPv6
such that it can communicate with the network configured with the IPv6 address scheme.

Introduction
The report is prepared for Advanced Digital Company that have a city head office, 3
branch office and 2 home office. The network is designed for supporting the retail business of
the organization and the currently it have a WAN connection between the sites and the city head
office. Internet access is also available for each of the branch office and the branches access the
internet via their city head office. A network solution is proposed for supporting the 100 %
expansion of the current business and the network framework is restructured for the
accommodation of the growth. For the development of the network solution an IP addressing
plan is created for each of the branches and the network is subnetted according to the
requirement of the company such that it can meet the future needs for a tenure of minimum 5
years. A detailed network plan is designed and documented for the preparation of the report.
Network Media
It is recommended that the local area network should have a connectivity of 100 mbps for
each of the branches connected with the city head office. The selection of the 100 Mbps Fast
Ethernet can help in increasing the data transfer rate for transferring the data packets from the
client server to users (Simmons 2014). An Ethernet LAN is exactly provisioned to meet
information exchange speed essentials with better segments that incorporate NICs, links and also
internetworking devices that can meet the most stringent requests for accessing the network.
WLAN 802.11 standard is used for the securing the wireless connectivity and provide the same
operating speed as the Ethernet connection (Vo et al. 2015). The access point should be secured
with the application of encryption algorithm such that the unauthorized users does not have the
access of the wireless network.

Ethernet innovation can be utilized as a part of numerous ways:
 Ethernet speed of 10 Mbps will be used at the entrance layer to give better access to
customers. Additionally, 100-Mbps Fast Ethernet can be used for high-information
exchange speed to customers or servers.
 Gigabit Ethernet can be used as the association between the entrance layer and also
organizing frameworks that can bolster the system activity from Ethernet piece on the
entrance interface (Karsten et al. 2015).
 For getting the best performance from the network the bottleneck situation should be
avoided and a constant bandwidth should be allocated for the transmission of the data
packets.
 For each of the branches and the home office network different VLAN should be created
such that it can be used for the separation of the network and create different channel for
secure transmission of the data packets (Fleischmann and Koberstein 2015).
 The network should be divided into core, access and distribution layer such that the type
of network media used for the connection should be analyzed.

Networking Hardware Requirements
The different types of networking devices which would be required for the concept of the
usage of the procedures are routers, switches and firewall (just to name a few). The list basically
consist of the various devices for example configuration the VPN of the remote access. These
devices should be tested before the actual implementation of the aspect due to the factor that it
can set aside long for the output (Wang, Liu and Szeto 2015). On the other hand it can be stated
that the VPN firewall must be installed in the middle of the switch with the aspect of the
approach of the VPN and a switch that directly advances movement into the framework of the

ground. The firewall must be the Ethernet interfaces that are basically used as a part of the
network. A router or a switch directly associates with the modem through an Ethernet link done

the concept of the router and the switch can directly able the user to interact with two system at a
single time.
The router requirement at each of the location would be one router. But as there 125 hosts
at the office, I will directly propose five routers. For the Chatswood, it would be very much
appropriate if we can use 3 routers and two routers which are recommended for Leichhart branch
office. So the total of fourteen routers would be required. These routers would be directly be
connected with the WAN. The switches can be used to make the traffic of the network at a very
fast speed. One of the switch can be used be the server room. The major list of recommendation

In this type of scenario according to me the proposal of the hierarchical topology for HO.
Utilizing a network of topology which is heretical it can be enables to limit cost. We can directly

of the expense on pointless layer of the highlights (González et al. 2016). Additionally it can be

administration obligation and the aspect of the system administration can be very much

As it can be seen that there are 4 hosts at the bankstown home office and 2 hosts at
Epping, topology of mesh which will be better option in this context. But it can be seen in the
concept of Chatswood and Leichhart with 52 and 25 host respectively and hierarchical topology
will be appropriate.

Type of Internet Access
Depending upon the ISP and the development of the associating, diverse organization are very
much available like the video on demand, virus checking and the concept of the data storage. The
organization must directly pick the ISP who will give a speed limit in the range of minimum 1.5
Mbps or higher from the using of the DSL advancement. The ISP must have the directly ability
to recognize and involve in the concept of the information to the end customer and diverse ISP’s

The wireless network can be considered a best option for the organization. The
organization can directly utilize their own DNS server due to the factor that it directly gives

value and different parameters (de Keizer et al. 2015). The association which is related to the
stretch keep their updates at whatever point is required. It can make the aspect of the cost very
much cheap. The DNS can provide an access speed which is very much faster.
Conclusion
From the above report it can be concluded that with the development of the IP addressing
plan the network designer can prepare the network design for meeting the needs of the
organization. The selection of the network topology and the cabling plan is important for
designing the network solution. The number of users using the network solution should be
estimated for the preparation of the network design and preparation of the IPv4 and IPv6 address
plan. The configuration of the network device must be done according to the address plan.
Different VLAN should be created for the department and the wireless network such that it can
help in increasing the security of the network. The servers connected in the network should be
installed in the demilitarized zone such that the security of the network is maintained and the
physical access of the servers are restricted for increasing the security of the network.
