Report
AI Summary
This report presents a comprehensive network design solution for a law firm with six departments, focusing on enhancing employee performance and activity management. The project scope includes analyzing technology, network topology, hardware requirements, and creating a timeline and budget. The design incorporates multiple redundancies for improved network uptime and separate switches for each department. A star topology is used for interconnecting network devices, with the core switch configured as a VTP server for centralized management. The IP addressing scheme allocates IP addresses to each VLAN, and the layer three switch is configured with access control lists to meet the law firm's service requirements. The report also provides router configurations, access point and server configuration guidelines for enhanced security, and a detailed timeline and budget estimation for network hardware, human resources, and logistics.

ADVANCED NETWORK DESIGN
Project Scope and requirement
There is a requirement of development of a network solution for a lawyer firm having 6
departments according to their service requirement. The scope of the project is to analyse the
technology and the network topology that can be used for the development of the network such tat
the performance of the employees can be improved and their activity can be managed. The scope of
the project is identified for the identification of the hardware needed for the development of the
network solution and creating a timeline and budget for the project. For the development of the
network each of the department is allocated with a separate VLAN and the layer three switch is
configured with access control list for meeting the service requirement of the law firm.
Network Design and Justification
The network is designed with multiple redundancy such that the uptime of the network is
improved and for each of the department separate switches. Star topology is used for
interconnecting the switches and the other network devices. The selection of the star topology
improves the performance of the network and new nodes can be connected in the network easily.
The core switch is configured with VTP server such that there is a centralized management on the
network and failure of one of the link does not have effect on the whole network. The application of
the star topology helps in enabling the uses to get access to the resources such as printers and
servers easily and there is minimal disruption in the network. The following IP addressing scheme is
developed for allocating the IP address to each of the VLAN and configure the network following the
needs of the law firm.
