Review of Advanced Wireless Technologies: Wi-Fi, WiMax and Antennas

COMMUNICATION
 Satellite
Communication is
another advanced
wireless
communication
technology that
enables the users to
remain connected
from anywhere in
the earth

BLUETOOTH
 Bluetooth is a
wireless technology
that is used to
transfer files among
the connected
devices over a short
range (Gomez, Oller
& Paradells, 2012).

WI-MAX TECHNOLOGY
 Wi max technology
is a broadband
technology of
wireless data
communication

 Wi-Max technology
has different
versions such as 4G,
5G (More & Mishra,
2012)

GI FI
 Gigabit wireless or
GIFI is a wireless
technology that is
capable of high
speed data transfer
(Reddy, 2013).
 Researchers are
been conducted for
easier
implementation of
GI FI

DIFFERENT TYPES OF
ANTENNA
 Yagi- The most basic type of directional
antenna and is used for establishing
both point to point and multipoint
connection
 Horn- horn antenna consists of a flaring
metal wave that is shaped like a horn
 Cellular- Most widely used antenna and
is an integral part of telecommunication
system.

CONCLUSION
 Therefore, it can be concluded that the
GI FI system is expected to become a
dominant player in future as it will
improve the rate of data transfer to a
considerable extent. Furthermore, the
connection will be more secure and
reliable.
 Among different types of antenna,
cellular antenna is expected to remain
dominant in future.
