RESEARCH PROPOSAL
Background
Globalisation plays a very important role in success of every business and to different
national economies. For example in auto mobile industry globalisation effectiveness have been
noticed that is in US imported foreign cars were rare before (Abbas and Yigit, 2015). In the 21st
century globalisation has provided the new opportunities for various businesses globally but at
the same time business need to adapt the new technologies to attain these objectives in the
competitive market at global level.
The report of 2017 says that GDP have increased with 3.5% and due to globalisation
various businesses have the different opportunities that is it developing business relations, offers
innovative technologies internationally. Globalisation have contributed to success of the business
with the help of changing roles of managers like use of new technology at large scale, to manage
the external environment, created specialised labour divisions, minimising the transactional cost
(Morgan, 2017).
Globalisation have also positively impacted on the value chain of the business. Most of
the countries are enhancing global trade, innovation as well as investment. As per the
OECD( Organisation for economic co-operation and development) research have enabled the
businesses in global value chains( GVC) which have resulted into improvement in production
process, increased sales and distribution channels as well as product development, improves
technology at global level (Georgiadis and Mehl, 2015).

As per the view of Loke, Chia and Gopinathan, (2017) Globalisation refers to the
integration of different economies as well as societies transfer of ideas, new technologies,
services, products, operations as well as information among different countries internationally.
Globalisation combines the several segments social, political as well as economical.
Globalisation in the 21st century has benefited various countries like it has raised the living
standards and have developed many countries which has resulted in increasing job opportunities,
increased the access for products as well as services and have modernised the technologies. It has
benefited various businesses by developing the free international market and improved the work
cultures at the same time various businesses have achieved the competitive advantage
internationally.
According to Zajda, (2015) globalisation is an important part of every organisation
because it helps in the development of the business globally and the outside of the boundaries of
the country. Effectiveness or the importance of the globalisation in different aspect is as follows.
Globalisation allow youngsters to move forward and give them opportunities to have higher
studies and allow them to acquire their own choices even if it is not available in their own
country. Globalisation increase the demand of the education in the country and meanwhile
decreasing lout. economy of a country is affected by the globalisation because if the company
invest outside the country than it brings the foreign money and foreign currency which is
beneficial for the every organisation and its origin country. This will help to increase the GDP
and foreign investment of the country also for the company it increase the sales and develop a
market for the sale of the product which leads to increase in the profit and growth of the
company. trend and the technology means the current technologies which are used by the
company, globalisation helps to bring new technologies and the treads in the country for the
development of the company and the its production techniques. It also helps to bring the best
technologies from the rest of the world. it increase the competition among the rest of the worlds
companies to sustain in the market. This will helps to the increase the investment from the rest of
the world and also it help to the governments supports from the globalisation company start their
business outside the country which help to increase the flow of the capital and the foreign capital
which help in the growth of the country.

employees which makes companies to hire more number of people which helps in decreasing

unemployment from the country. With the help of the globalisation there is increase in the
employment in the country which helps to remove the poverty and unemployment from the

various ways. These changes includes the emergence of new technologies, increasing
competition, transfer of information. And to accept these challenges the company will have to
take care regarding effectiveness of the globalisation.
As per the view of Cartledge and et.al., (2019) With the emergence of globalisation there
is increased number of competition in the market. The competition have raised regarding the
products, price, technological adaption etc. if the business produces the products with less cost
and sells in the market with cheaper rate then it enables the company to increase the market
share. Customers have variety of choices that can affect the behaviour of the consumer and the
customers want the products and services in an effective and manner and also want high quality
of products and at low cost. To fulfill these needs the company need to make the products
accordingly in order to survive in the global market as well as to gain the competitive advantage.
Senses, (2017) stated that Most important aspect of globalisation is the emergence of
new technology for various businesses in order to expand the firm internationally and to
experience new opportunities. E-commerce is playing an important role for SME's to enter in the
global markets. Technology is an important part in order to increase the quality as well as in
improving the quality of services. The company need to make use of the latest technologies in
order to increase the product quality and increases the sales of the company. Due to globalisation
the speed regarding technologies have been increased. Most of the companies faces risks in the
markets like capital intensive that is the reason the company need to adapt the technologies to
meet the needs and expectations of the customers. Information is the another expensive as well
as valuable for the manufacturing factor in the present market. Information is the easy thing that
can be transferred between two or more countries. The company need to transfer the knowledge

according to the change in technologies. And if the company have the chance to use the
knowledge then it can adapt the change.
Research specification
Current research will apply interpretivism philosophy, this would be helpful in analysing
actual ways that may help in driving success of business through globalisation. Study will use
theories and models to develop understanding. Furthermore, primary and secondary both data
collection sources will be used. Books and journal’s will be used as secondary sources that
would help in reviewing literatures of other authors on the same topic. And Questionnaire will be
used as primary source to get realistic and current facts related to subject matter. Furthermore,
scholar will apply random sampling method while selecting respondents. This would be better in
selecting right candidates and minimising biasness during research.

RESEARCH METHODOLOGY
Research methodology refers to the systematic study in particular fields to get
knowledge, information for understanding, to solve the problems, etc. by using various methods
and concepts like theoretical model, paradigm, phases quantitative of qualitative techniques in
the research methodology (Corbin, Strauss and Strauss, 2015). The purpose of research is to
describe predict the phenomena explaining and controlling events. These purposes are explained
as below:
EXPLAINING AND DESCRIBING: in this the research concept collecting of
knowledge, ascertaining facts and developing different methods. The ways to understand the
theories are and explaining them with efficiency.
PREDICTION: in this research concept the predictions are done on the research which
can be subjected to the scientific study. In prediction the research is based on the hypothesis
concerning about the various situations (Bell, Bryman and Harley, 2018). .
Various tools and techniques of research methodology are explained below:
RESEARCH PHILOSOPHY: Generally the philosophy deals with the source ,
development in knowledge and nature (Mathur and et.al., 2019 ). research philosophies are
categorised in two types that are positivism and interpretivism. In positivism technique the data
is collected on hypothesis basis by formulating the research topic. In interpretivism technique the
data is collected on the basis of facts and figures that relates to human nature and tendencies. In
the present study on advanatge of globalization for business the researcher used the
interpretivism method because it benefits the researcher to get the qualitative data with the
accurate facts to identify the business driving forces in the global market.
RESEARCH APPROACH: the technique refers to the study of collection of the data in
the particular procedure (Barnham, 2015). Approach technique is being categorise in the two
types that are inductive and deductive approach. Inductive study refers to the procedure of study
through establishment of new theories and general method. In deductive the study is based on the
hypothesis or assumption that are applied in study. present study benefits of globalization in for
buisness conducted by the researcher used the inductive method as it benefits the researcher to
get accurate conclusion of the topic.

RESEARCH DESIGN: Research design is categorised in two type that are explanatory
and descriptive (McPhail and Lourie, 2017.) In explanatory the researcher uses own imagination
and personal judgement. In descriptive the researcher describes the situation on which the study
is conducted. The present study was conducted by the researcher using the technique of
descriptive method as it collects the data through news paper, articles, benefits to solve the
current problem.
SAMPLING: It is the process of selecting samples from mass audience (Gear, Eppel and
Koziol-Mclain, 2018). Researcher has used random sampling for the present study that has
supported in minimising issue of biasness.
DATA COLLECTION: in data collection method data collected to get information
about the particular field of subject. data collection is done in two ways that are primary data
collection method and secondary data collectible method. In primary data collection method,
data is collected from the primary sources that can be through personally collecting data and
facts (Corbin, Strauss and Strauss, 2015). In secondary data collection method, data is collected
from the sources that that can be through available information from that is being already
researched by the other and using it as the secondary data in the topic. the present study
Questionnaire is used.
DATA ANALYSIS: in data analysis technique the data is being analysed to get useful
information from then use it in the study topic. Data analysis helps to get overall result from the
study that is being conducted. The data analysis is of two types diagnostic and thematic. present
study scholar has used thematic analyses method, use of graphs and themes have helped in
gaining accurate results. (McPhail and Lourie, 2017).
ETHICAL CONSIDERATION: Individual has not copied material and has not forced
any respondent to answer the research questions. Furthermore, investigator has taken permission
from participants before sending them questionnaire, They have given written permission to
scholar and after that they have been involved in this study(Gear, Eppel and Koziol-Mclain,
2018).

Interpretation: From the above data it is identified that 6.6% respondents have view that
company is operating in market from less than 1 year. On other hand 80% answers have replied
that enterprise is working between 5-10 years. From the above graphs it can be interpreted that
firm has good experience of working in domestic market. But still it is working as medium size
firm hence it has not entered into many new countries.

Interpretation: It is found that 66% answers have viewed that ALDI has less branches in
other countries. It is majorly depended upon the domestic market only that is the reason that its
revenues are limited and it is working as medium size company since longer duration. On other
hand 33% respondents have replied that ALDI has branches in some countries but it is very
limited. Hence it can be interpreted that ALDI needs to work on entering into new markets. This
may help organisation in gaining new opportunities. It will help the firm in gaining competitive
advantage and sustaining in market for longer duration.

Interpretation: From the above table it is identified that 53% answers have replied that
ALDI company has limited financial resources that is why it is still depending upon domestic
market and has not expanded globally. On other hand 26% respondents have said that company
has limited consumers hence it is unable to work better in other locations that is the reason why it
is still working in UK only. From the above discussion it can be interpreted that poor financial
resources are the major reason due to which ALDI has not planned to expand its business
globally. But in order to raise its profit it will have to enter into new locations so that it can
enhance its consumers and can generate huge sales.

have said that it is not right. It can be interpreted that Companies can get benefit by entering in to

global brand image which will increase sales of organisation. ALDI can get benefit by entering
into global market and this will help in gaining loyalty of buyers and it would be able to sustain
in market for longer duration.
