Advantages and disadvantages of learning in the classroom
Classroom teaching and learning is one of the best and effective ways of increasing skills and
knowledge. Nowadays in this digital era, students learn with internet and online. As compared to
online learning, learning in classroom helps students in gaining theoretical and practical
knowledge. There are several advantages of classroom learning such as:
Improves social skills: in classroom learning students are more likely to interact and
communicate with their friends and other students. It improves their relation and increases their
morale. In digital and online learning, students are less likely to interact with others and it can
make them innocent or introvert (Akçayır and Akçayır, 2018). So, for becoming social and
boosting confidence it is important focusing on classroom learning.
Increases skills: It increases students’ practical and theoretical learning because they can solve
their queries at the same time. It increases their skills and reduces their errors and mistakes in
their tasks. Teachers can focus on all students face to face.
Increases continuity: As compared to digital or virtual learning, students join classroom
learning continuously. In online learning, students are more likely to skip their classes and do not
focus on things that they have been taught (Yichong and et.al., 2020).
Disadvantages
Uncomfortable classroom furniture is one of the main disadvantages.
Longer hours of seating at one place can increase some problems in students.
Travelling time and cost is another disadvantage (Bishnoi, 2017).
Attendance time can be restrictive or inconvenient.
