INTRODUCTION
Study skills for higher education refer to the skills a student required in learning and
development of knowledge and skills in achieving the education better. They need to make sure
that they are developing the relevant skills to increase the process of learning so that they can
develop the learning and skills for there education so that they can increase the learning and
development. The report will include the advantages and the disadvantages about the e-learning
programme in the covid-19 situation.
MAIN BODY
Advantages
 Less Absenteeism: E-learning is one of the factors which have change the learning of the
people and it is one of the best technology which is used in the time of covid-19
pandemic (Kumar Basak, Wotto and Belanger,2018). This is one of the major technology
uses in the recent time period. It helped the people in learning in such a difficult time as
there are a lot of issues and the lock down which impacted the entire educational industry
all over the world. The major advantages of the E-learning is that student is allowed to
learn anytime and anywhere according to their comfort. They can use the internet and
learn about anywhere in the world about anything they want to learn. It helped the student
in less absenteeism as student are free to use anytime to their surfing and can learn things
which are important in their studies. Those who are sick and are not able to cope up with
the other students got a great benefit from the e-learning as they can see or check the
classes again and again to learn the studies, and they can make sure about the social
distancing as well.
 Encourage Shy Kids: It is crucial to make sure that the education system and the
university make sure to encourage to those students who are shy and are not willing to
take party in things. The nature of some students are very shy which also make things
negative for them as they are not able to communicate. They hide from public situation
and are not getting enough confidence to represent in front of people. The e-learning can
help in developing the confidence as they can use the e-learning and different programme
to increase their working, and they can also make sure that they are creating a wider
ways in learning and getting confidence and leadership. E learning is developing and
encouraging the children with different ways of techniques and process of activity in the

learning. It is important for the people and university to promote the student who are shy
so that they get encouraged in the learning.
 Efficiency : Students are going to find it very easy and efficient from E-learning since
they will be able to communicate and attend classes at anytime and any place. Lectures
are recorded and are button away from the students if in case they do not attend or miss
out on any information which they want to recall in the future. There are multiple learners
which can develop and get more knowledge from E-learning which is going to be a great
factor. Larger audience can be gathered for the lessons which the teachers are providing
to the students (Juarez Santiago and et.al., 2020). The vision and mission and also
disturbance in the class is going to be lesser since the students mute the class and pay
attention. Teachers can find out who is disturbing the class as well and time learning is
going to be present as well. Tests and forms are going to be available online and E-
learning is going to make the efficiency of the students be higher and be overall
beneficial for a long run.
 Affordability : E-learning is a lot more affordable than physical classes or learning
which is because the real estate element is eliminated and also because transportation
worry from the students and the school will not have to be provided. All the knowledge
and information about the learning is going to be present online which can be accessed by
the students so that there would be higher development (Gill, Sharma and Gupta, 2017).
Online tracking is present for the students and the teachers are going to make sure that the
students take full advantage of E-learning so that the topics can be covered and not
repeated. Recording is going to make sure that the doubts of the students are cleared.
There is a lot of extra material for the topic is also going to be present and more skills are
going to develop in the students with time and that is going to be more beneficial. Self
belief and self-confidence of the individuals is going to be present when they know the
topic well and making sure that the students have a good access would be helpful.

Disadvantages
 Technological issues: One of the impact the technologies are facing or the student who
are using the technologies are facing, they are not able to understand the entire
technologies and the proper utilization of the technologies to make the best working of
the learning. They need to understand and need to have a valid internet connect, and they
also need to know the process of using the internet facilities. Several times the server can
cause the students in learning due to bad weather and servers (Srivastava, 2019).
 Lack of social interactions : the one thing which got the most affected is the social
gathering. Students are using the e-learning and are so keen to do that, they forgot the
social gathering and are addictive to the online and e-learning. They need to do more of
the social gathering to understand emotions and better understanding of the practical
knowledge. It helps in better health and good learning of practical things. Social
interaction is very crucial as it helps the student in understanding the behaviour and also
help them in being active. Social interaction helps the student in learning new ways of
doing the projects and also increase the communication between the students which help
them in achieving the assignment and project at academic. This is one of the major factor
in e-learning programme which are reacting to the students, and they need to make it
better by developing into the social interaction with friends and family (Gon and
Rawekar, 2017).
 Managing of screen timing : E-learning take time and it also needs a lot of time to
watch the screen on the devices which can cause a lot of issues including the eyesights
and the headache etc. this is one of the major disadvantages of the e-learning which the
students and children are facing. They are utilizing the best of the technology, but they
need to make sure that they are working in the process of planning the use of
technologies by giving the timing and schedule of managing the screen timing. They need
to make sure that they are planning the use of screen timing so that they can reduce the
issues they are facing in the learning programme. It also needs to develop the social
gathering and practical learning through the different ways and also to manage a timing
schedule in the work to increase the efficiency of learning and taking care of the health at
the same time.

 Not appropriate for all : Working and learning on the e-learning is very helpful in
during the covid-19 time and in the pandemic, but it is very crucial to understand that the
learning of internet is not appropriate for all the student as there are students who can not
afford the devices and the internet facilities. It requires a lot of siting activity and it needs
to make sure that the parents need make sure that their children are sitting for the whole
lecture or class. They also need to manage the students or children to understand the
proper way of learning in the process. They also need to know how the application of the
learning and the online platforms learning ways to handle them and explain to their
children. There are students who are not that much into the e-learning and the situation of
the covid-19 pandemic has impacted their study in a way which they need to develop as
they need to utilize the time by understanding but on the other hand the e-learning are not
appropriate for all (Lau and et.al., 2018). There are students who like to prefer the normal
learning and not the e-learning for their education.
CONCLUSION
From the above report it can be concluded that the e-learning programme are beneficial
and negative as well for the student in their higher education skills. E-learning is helping students
in learning the subjects in the covid-19 situation by following of all the government guidelines
but on the other hand it is not suitable for all the people in the process. They need to develop the
process of working in the education to make sure every student is working well in the learning.
