Homework Assignment
AI Summary
This assignment delves into a comparative analysis of manual and electronic project, program, and portfolio management (PPPM) application systems. It examines the advantages and disadvantages of both approaches across various PPPM knowledge areas throughout a project's lifecycle. The student discusses the inefficiencies of manual systems, highlighting their increased error rates compared to computerized systems. The assignment emphasizes the benefits of electronic systems, such as automated functions, improved efficiency, and time management capabilities. It also explores how application systems assist project managers in monitoring performance and managing changes within a project, proposing appropriate systems for different industries. The assignment touches upon contemporary developments in the use of PM application systems, including the relevance of systems thinking to project, program, and portfolio managers. Finally, it touches on the importance of systems thinking to project, program and portfolio managers.

It is found that there are a number of advantages as well as disadvantages of
different manual project as well as electronic project. A manual application
system is considered as one of the book keeping system where the records are
generally maintained without the utilization of the computer system. However it
is analyzed that the use of manual system generally increases error rate as well
as computerized systems. On the other hand it is identified that with the help of
the electronic application system, all the functions can be conducted
automatically and it is found to be much more significant as well as useful than
manual system.
The application system is very much comprehensive as it helps in exchanging
the data as well as information electronically with the help of other application
within the entire network
Furthermore, it is analyzed that due to the advancement in science and
technology, the human beings are not needed to write or read in paper as
nowadays all the work as well as operations can be done with the help of
computerized system.
This change will make change within the project environment as the things that
are done manually with the help of manual system for a project will be done on
electronic application system that further helps in lowering the rate of
redundancy as well as helps in improving the quality of the project. In addition
to this, it is found that manual system takes lot of time and therefore
management of project with the help of the application system is helpful in
proper management of time.
