Education, earlier, was a privilege which was enjoyed by a handful of chosen person. Not
everyone could afford or acquire education. As the times have changed and the world has
evolved, education has become a means for survival. Now, in the current society, it is the basic
requirement for someone to have the elementary level education to be able to undertake any kind
of job. In several parts of the world, it is a mandate to enroll children into schools. Education,
now, is perceived as a great force, which can transform someone’s life and thus, the basic
education is often provided free of cost, till a certain age. However, people are often unable to
pursue their education due to several obstacles in life. In the modernized world, with time, came
online learning programs, which have transformed the education system in a globalized space
(Stone, 2017). This paper would focus on online learning programs and how they can be
beneficial for a person to be able to competent in the vast world of competition, will be
discussed.
In the recent times, it is rare to come across someone, who has not received any kind of
learning in life, as governments across the globe are trying to pull the literary level by aiding and
providing education facilities, even to the most vulnerable classes of the society. Education has
become much affordable, which earlier was not. It is interesting to note that some countries even
have free education system, in order to encourage children and their parents so that the next
generations are not deprived of education, which has become a basic necessity for surviving in
the competitive world. However, gaining higher education, might be expensive too. In countries
like United States, students often become liable to pay high amount of loans in order to complete
their higher education, at college or University levels.
It is interesting to know, that learning is no longer restricted to going to schools, colleges

educational institutions. The development of technology, internet, methods of teaching and
learnings and science has enabled the process of online learning, which people can enroll into, in

opportunities, every year, which people can identify and make the most of, in order to make
personal development and progresses. Internet has evolved as a force, which people can utilize to
know and learn about everything in this world, but the online programs provide guidance to the
learners to be able to overcome the obstacles which come in their way and hinder their learning
processes in life, through interaction and engagement (Martin & Bolliger, 2018). As time has
passed, online learning programs have been very important and effective for convenient learning,
even when a student physically cannot go to institutions to gain their degrees and acquire skills
and expertise to become successful in life.
Additionally, the creation of learning communities have been one of the most positive
changes which the world has seen, as people become more enabled to face the competitive
world, and overcome their own challenges and shortcomings. Online learning programs are
convenient, comfortable and quick. People across the world, have realized how beneficial these
programs are and can help them learn about important and relevant subjects. It can thus be
asserted that sharing knowledge is no longer restricted to classrooms, and can also be done
through online platforms, which have been created. People who are posited across far geographic
locations, now have the ease and access to these learning programs to develop one self and
become more competent for the difficult professional spaces. These learning programs yield to
greater student satisfaction, as the process is easier and makes interaction process comfortable to

positive and advantageous, especially in resumes.
Furthermore, people have the freedom to choose their courses and learning programs,
now, with the ease and access of online learning programs. The educational path, is no longer
pre-determined by a strict curriculum, which has to be followed by the students through the
course period of their learning. Education is much comfortable, through these programs. No
matter what situation one is facing, such as moving to a new city, taking up a job or financial
crises, one can opt for online learning programs (Khan, Egbue, Palkie & Madden, 2017). These
obstacles can be gotten over, when one can enroll in these online courses rather than coming to a
standstill when it comes to educational efficiency and qualification. However, it has also been
noted that online education is much affordable compared to traditional learning, which has been
one of the reasons behind students preferring it. These programs provide credit scores, which are
of immense value, in educational institutions or taking up a professional job, which indicate
ones’ efficiency and credibility. It has also been seen that students are able to overcome their
