INTRODUCTION
Overview of Research
An operating system (OS) can be defined as a particular system software, which helps in
managing the resources that are linked with software, computer hardware and aid in users in
performing number of common services in regards to computer programs. In present time, there
are number of operating systems that are available in the market and these are : Microsoft
Windows, macOS, Linux and so on, which are utilised by users as per their requirements
(Roesner and et. al., 2012). Present research is going to be enclosed with benefits that windows
operating system carries over macOS. In order to perform this investigation, researcher has taken
this topic because into consideration because, over the years this has been among people's mind
that if they should go for Microsoft Windows or macOS. Including this, it has been identified
that people prefer Microsoft Windows more, over macOS and the reason behind this, is that they
feel cost of a Mac is too high due to it's goodwill and benefits of the Apple company delivers to
it's customers.

Microsoft Windows and mac operating systems
According to Pumphrey. (2019), over the years various operating systems has considered
specifically a number of standing difference whether they are related to speed or security. In
present context, there are two major operating systems, that are being utilised by people in all
over the world are : macOS and Microsoft Windows. These operating systems are described
underneath:
Microsoft Windows : The Windows operating system (Windows OS) for desktop PCs is
said to be an operating system for personal computers, where more than 90 percent of the
computers are having around this system. Basically, Windows consists with number of elements
like virtual memory management, graphical user interface (GUI), support for many peripheral
devices and multitasking. Along with this, MS-DOS, Windows 1.0 – 2.0, Windows 3.0 – 3.1,
Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows ME - Millennium Edition, Windows NT 31. - 4.0,
Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 10 and many
more are some of versions of software that Microsoft offers to computer users.
MacOS : macOS can be defined as series of graphical operating systems, which was
found and developed by Apple Inc. in the year of 2001. This is said to be one of the primal
operating system for Apple's computers and other gizmos that belongs to Apple Inc. This is
being considered as the second most used desktop OS. In all over the world.
Benefits of windows operating system over mac and their limitations
As given by Bonheur. (2017), there are number of benefits and limitations that Microsoft
Windows system carries over macOS and these are :
Benefits :
 It is easy to use and less expensive in nature if it is compared with macOS.
 Number of available software are much higher than the software that are available for
macOS users.
 Microsoft has built itself, in a way that it directly supports the new hardware system and
runs in a smooth manner as well.
Limitations :

 Microsoft Windows operating system holds ample number of viruses, which raise
security related concerns.
 Apple macOS, is much more optimised and integrated in a way, which helps it in
enhancing the work capacity seamlessly with all of the hardware components that they
have developed for themselves (Xu, Cui and Peinado, 2015).

METHODOLOGY
Type of Investigation
The researcher's primary obligation is to identify nature of the research work in order to
execute the appropriate selection of other tools (Fleming and Apple Inc, 2012). The research
areas are focused significantly on two different types such as quantitative and qualitative
research tool.
Qualitative research method- It is based on data accumulation through the qualitative
means so the human perception is based on this method.
Quantitative research method- This depends on statistical or quantitative methods and is
therefore dependent on empirical facts and figures in the compilation of data.
Under this research, qualitative research method has been applied by through an
investigator as this is more effective in conducting the detailed examination by identifying
strategies which connected with the particular area (Mattioli, 2012).
Data collection
It is a procedure through which an investigator gathers information from relevant sources
to search the answers to research issue and examine outcomes. Choice of the data collection
based on research issue under study. It can be classified in to different categories:
Primary method- In this method, data is collected by using the questionnaire, observation
etc. Through these sources, researcher can able to collect the fresh data effectively (Lakka and et.
al., 2013).
Secondary method- Under this, data has been gathered through some other person and
already passed by statistical analysis. Books, articles and journals are the effective sources to
gather secondary data.
In this present investigation, primary method of data collection has been applied and
develop the questionnaire in this because it gives the reliable data.
Sampling
It is choosing the data for an examination and also analysis that do not take the local
features (Ligh and et. al., 2014). It is choosing the subgroups from population components like
people. There are 30 respondents has been selected has been chosen by using the random data

sampling method because through this investigator can determine the answers to different people
by giving the equal opportunities.
