Introduction
Advertisement is one of the major aspect that all thriving and upcoming business focus in
to create awareness of their product to the customers, advertisement thrives to transform the
brand into the vibrant growth platform by crafting meaningful human experience by ‘stealing
‘the mind of the customers and directing them to purchase a certain product, advertisement
evolved due to the industrial revolution and the eagerness to increase sales and also due to
expansion of the business. (walton, 2016), that’s why in this report am majoring in types of
advertisement its strength and weaknesses, there three major types of advertisement that most of
the organization use in advertising their product, these are, television, outdoor and transit, lastly
online advertisement, these three kind of advertisement have become famous due to their ideal of
advertising the products. (Harvester, 2017)
Television advertisingment
Television advertisement it more appealing for covering a large area in the promotion of
a product, hence catering for a large market, it is I deal because it has advantages of sight,
sound, demonstrating and color to persuade a potential customer. However, television as media
of advertisement has strength and weaknesses. Television as a medium of advertisement serves a
wide range I terms of passing information some of its strength includes, grabs attention of the
viewers, take a case where an organization takes product personally to everyone in the world by
advertising their product and showing the product benefits, it could be next to impossible,
tiresome, and uneconomical that’s why television traps the attention of the viewers in wide range
leading to promotion of the product, secondly it combines sight and sound which attracts

customers to purchase a product, this is by creation of moving and still images that have
attracting colors which captures attention of the viewer, lastly it covers a wide range of market,
most of the customers have television in their homestead where they can view advertisement
while following their programs, apart from television having merits it also have weaknesses,
high cost is one of the limitation, promotion and spot placement serves as cost that one incur in
advertising their product, for growing businesses it’s difficult for business to cater for the huge
cost of advertisement, secondly negative audience attitude is one of the hidden challenge facing
television advertisement, many people dislike popping adverts while watching their program
hence developing negative attitude toward the adverts, lastly television advertisement may not
appeal to intended group hence becoming no infective. Example of advertisement in Canada
programs are lottery advertisement. (Asif,2016)
Outdoor and transit advertising
Outdoor advertisement include billboard, vehicle advertisement and lastly sign, while
transit advertisement include posters that are stick on walls and poles to promote a product,
outdoor and transit advertisement are more appealing because one can view them even from far ,
they are decorated in a manner which can attract customers. Outdoor and transit advertisement is
less expensive because its installed to last, secondly it caters for moving population, and it
creates a long lasting impression to the viewers because its installed for a longer period of time,
however it also have limitation such as it conveys limited information to the viewers, it has only
visual effects hence lacking sound, and lastly one cannot measure if it will lead to the action of

purchasing. Example of advertisement is Manitoba’s cellular network in Canada that is installed
along the road. (Collins, 2017)
Online advertisinment
The world is evolving and leaning towards the growing technology, internet platform has
formed a base where advertisement is mostly done, it involve creation of website and posting
product, making the product to everyone using the internet, online advertisement covers a wide
range of market, there is strong interaction with the customers who are interested on the product,
it provides a large capacity of information concerning the product and lastly it creates a platform
for purchasing of product. However no everyone has access to internet hence making
advertisement irrelevant to those without internet access, there is lack of control of advert
popping as the user browsers leading to negative attitude towards the user of the internet, lastly
there is lack of marketing skills. Example of online advertisement there is Jeep advertisement on
online platform. (Faber,2018)
Conclusion
In conclusion advertisement is important in promotion and marketing of products, as seen
earlier television, outdoor/transit and lastly online advertisement are major medium of
advertisement, they lead to attracting and persuading customers to purchasing the products. This
shows that advertisement is inevitable for business to expand and increase its sales. (Altberg,
2018)
