AI Summary
This report provides a SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats) analysis of aero farms, a form of vertical farming. The report begins by defining aero farming and its principles, highlighting its use of indoor farming techniques and controlled environments. The SWOT analysis details the advantages of aero farms, such as reduced water and energy consumption, faster plant growth, and ease of cleaning. Weaknesses include the high cost of production and the need for technical expertise. Opportunities include the emergence of local markets and the ability to grow a variety of plants. Threats involve potential issues like poor labeling, rising energy costs, and climate changes. The report concludes by referencing relevant sources, providing a comprehensive overview of the aero farm's potential and challenges in construction project management.

CONSTRUCTION PROJECT MANAGEMENT FUNDAMENTALS
Vertical farming is the process where the farmer grows medicine and food in layers which are
standing straight up or down. Current ideas of this farming use indoor farming skills or
knowledge and the environment of agriculture, which is controlled by the use of the technology.
This technology is responsible for managing the environmental aspects such as temperature,
humidity, gases, light, and fertigation. (Zhang et al., 2007) Some of these farms employ the
skills same to that of a greenhouse whereby the use of natural sunlight can be compared with the
human-made and metal reflectors. On the other hand, aero farm means indoor farming through
commercial larder. Through this process, farming is conducted without sunlight or soil in a
whole controlled indoor environment. Below is the SWOT analysis regarding the aero farm.
SWOT ANALYSIS ON THE AERO FARM
Strength
In aero farm, water and energy used are less
and there is less maintenance since air acts as
a medium of plant growth. The farming
method is totally secured and plays an
important role in water conservation and labor
cost reduction. The farming when compared
with other farming method, it is discovered
that it enables the plants to grow at higher
rate. There is enough absorption of oxygen
by the roots of plants; therefore growth of the
plants is faster than any other convectional
Weaknesses
The harvest from the farming method can be
predicted the climatic influence. The cost of
marketing for the method is raised. There is
inadequate interaction between policy makers,
association and farmers. For the method to
succeed in achieving the environmental
standards there is need for the investment.
The farmers don’t get quality information and
awareness in the right time. And also the
farmers have no labeling information and
awareness. The consumers of the aero farm

have no offer concentration. Consumers have
no industrial skills. The cost of production for
the processed new products using this farming
method is very high. The cost to certify the
organic products is high. There is continuous
cleaning of root chambers. This is to ensure
that the root chambers stays uncontaminated
thereby preventing the roots free from
disease. Technical knowledge is required for
the running of the system. The experience of
measuring the number of nutrients required
by the crops is necessary since there is no soil
that can absorb excess or wrong nutrients
provided.
Opportunities
It enables the local markets to emerge. The
on-farm activities such as eco-tourism can
grow in a community. A farmer is in a
position of growing many types of plants. The
production of properly controlled plants
quality is enhanced. There is increased
provision of organic products to fulfill the
growing demand. The market brings in the
Threats
Poor labeling may lead to wrong species
identification during the time of selling. The
cost of energy during the production
increases. Some pests fail to react with the
pesticides and genetic traits. Lack of spending
the public money in the agricultural research.

organic products which is potentially
unfamiliar to the market. It allows the farm
produce to grow as per the demand. Aero

within the farm thereby eliminating other
channels of distribution. The emergence of

intake is not high. The numbers of farmed
species are increased. New markets of a
variety of farm products are expanded. In
some continents like Asia, there is high

investment. Water shortage might lead to
struggling of water by the farmers. Lack of
enough land owned by the farmers for
production. Climate changes for the plants
might lead lower production of the crops.
High temperature , low or high rainfall among
others may lead low yield the farm produce
