The presentation is based on topic as Transition of Beauty Therapist to an Aesthetician.
However, Aesthetician is a professional who is specializes in skin care. While planning to make
transition from beauty therapist to Aesthetician, this is crucial to gain employment with company
that provide ongoing training. Also, presentation will cover ethics and qualification of
Aesthetician. Furthermore, discussion will be conducted on employment opportunities for
profession as Aesthetician.
2. CHARACTERSTICS
a. Ethics and qualification of Aesthetician.
Ethics-:
Aesthetician termed out as everything that pertaining to the appearance of the skin and
defined as an individual who is specialize in one skincare technique such as electrolysis and
chemical peels. Their job duties are to undertake examination of the person skin and to suggest
lotion that is suitable to their skin. This is kind of facial exfoliation treatment made with non-
medical health treatment. All states need Aesthetician to be licensed before undertaking practice.
Aesthetician who performs certain care techniques such as electrolysis may need an additional
licence who practices medical Aesthetician.
Qualification-:
Like cosmetologist, Aesthetician gets training in cosmetology school or from any
technical college. They must have qualification in this profession. Qualification degree will be
inclusive of skincare specialist certificate, diploma and 2-year degree programs. In addition to
this, Medical aestheticians complete their additional bacteriology, anatomy, physiology and other
science courses as required by their state in order to be capable and skilled Aesthetician.
3. EMPLOYMENT
Employment opportunities for Aesthetician.
In order to become a licensed Aesthetician as profession has wide range of career choice
with nearly endless working environment opportunities. There are number of
Aesthetician career options in both traditional and non-traditional career pathways.
They need to undertake the practices as Day spas, Day spa manager, Salons, Room rental,
waxing technician and open you own business.

Medical aesthetician employed by any hospital, medical practice or by any healthcare
facility. In addition to this, they also work in medical spas and salons.
Henceforth, some of primary care practices also offer aesthetician services and this is an
added convenience and also attracts patients and enhance practice profitability.
As per experience and training, aesthetician offer wide variety of service and procedures such
as-:
1. They need to perform job as to meet with clients by appointment and consult on skin care
needs.
2. Aesthetician examine skin of patient and recommend products that is suitable for their
skin.
3. They assist the patients to minimize the appearance of various skin imperfections.
