Affirmative Action is stated as the equal employment opportunity provided to the
people residing in the United States. This is stated as the measures that the government
agencies and other federal contractors are needed to adopt legally. These measures are
adopted to avoid any kind of discrimination based on the religion, sex, colour or origin
(Arcidiacono & Lovenheim, 2016). The primary focus of this essay is to understand the
requirement of Affirmative Action in society despite the legislation regarding equal
opportunities in the workplace.
Our society still requires Affirmative Action since workstation uniformity is desired,
and in numerous companies, diversity is absent in place of work. Affirmative Action will
result in mark industries more in need of some actions. When we take an affirmative act, we
pledge to provide equal opportunity and do justice to all those who are underprivileged.
When a corporate house takes an affirmative act, it delivers the confidence of impartiality,
and this progresses the work atmosphere (Leslie, Mayer, & Kravitz, 2014). It delivers
assurance to the understated classes. Various legislations protect the rights of the
underprivileged classes of the society who are discriminated based on their color, religion,
origin, and sex. The "U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission" administers
centralized regulations such as "Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964", the "Age
Discrimination in Employment Act of 1967," and the "Genetic Information
Nondiscrimination Act of 2008" among other laws causing the discriminations to eradicate.
Various State Laws are present that regulate the discrimination procedure such as the "Fair
Employment Practices Agency" that function with the assistance of EEOC in order to direct
national anti-discrimination regulations. Various Municipal laws, along with the central and
the state laws, help to eradicate the discrimination that persists in society.
Although this legislation prevents the discrimination, but still there is various

deal with such issues regarding the discrimination. Thus, these actions are required since it
safeguards the ethnic multiplicity for the numerous marginal crowds in the civilization in
administrations, workstations, and scholastic situations, to provide a cure of the provided
situation, and to guarantee that all clusters in the humanity have equivalent prospects (Greene
& O'Brien, 2015). Thus, several interior clutches and administrations, comprising the
personages, must create pledges to defend such affirmative Action in the as this would help to
maintain a balance in the society that would secure the position of all and will not
discriminate. It not only helps to attain equal opportunities but also secures equal rights for all
the citizens (Bagde, Epple, & Taylor 2016). Additionally, societies with infirmities, other
minority groups, and women would not face discrimination as they do currently with
affirmative actions. Constant livelihood for such accomplishment would aid in safeguarding
the rights of the citizens.
In conclusion, it can be stated that though the anti-discrimination legislation is present
but is the need of the society to have the affirmation actions so that the balance in the society
and the workplace could be easily maintained and no person to be discriminated upon their
color, sex, religion or place of origin. Hence these affirmative actions shall continue despite
the present legislations.
