1Evaluation of Affordable Care Act
The Affordable Health Care Act (ACA) is an initiative introduced by the government
of the United States of America, where comprehensive laws concerning about the healthcare
was enacted. It happened in the year of 2010 and came to be known as PPACA or ACA. The
three clauses or goals for the Affordable Care Act are:
a. Making health insurance affordable so that more number of people can avail it. It also
says that the law gives subsidies to its consumers that are the premium credits of tax,
mentioning lower the expenditure of incomes in household ranging from one hundred
percent to four hundred percent depending on the federal level of poverty.
b. The expansion of medical program that will help covering almost all the adults that
have range of income below one hundred and thirty eight person of poverty in federal
level.
c. Supporting the innovative methods of delivery in medical care that is destined to
decrease the range of health care on a general level.
This was introduced under president Barrack Obama and named as Obama care. The
Affordable health care act largely commissions the structure that already exists in
Medicaid, Medicare and the Employer market but those were overhauled radically around
a program that is three legged. A survey was conducted in a locality where several
questions were asked related to the Affordable Health Care Act and how it has helped the
people in their welfare (Frean, Gruber & Sommers, 2017).
Most of the interviewers are aged from 20 to 45. After undertaking the survey, it has been
found that the Affordable Health Care has benefited the audience in a large number. The
cost of treatments and medical health care is kept very less so that more number of people
can avail it. Whether one is rich or poor that is not the concern anymore. Any person can
avail it due to the minimum cost. It has helped mostly the students because they already

have to do their own expenditure and if the health care is available at a low cost, then it
becomes easier for them to use it frequently and not think twice before investing. Other
group of people to benefit from this act is the old or senior citizens of the country
(Sommers et al. 2017). Health insurance have been made really quick and easily
accessible for a lot of people in the United States. Individuals who are especially single
mother and house wives got a lot of help after the introduction of the Affordable Health
Care Act as feeding a child and taking care of all the medical expenditure has become
easier compared to the previous time. Due to this act, medicines have become cheaper,
hospital expenditure have got lessen and many doctors got segregated to different places
so that no one gets miss and large number of requirements are met at shorter time
especially in case of emergencies. The only fact that has proven to be a disadvantage here
is that due to exposure to so much people, hospitals beds have decreased in number as the
number of patients increase.
