There are large number of old age people are living in the aged care home where they are getting better care facilities. In this, it is
essential to take care about the effective response which can help to get better implementation about using of effective practices that can help to
provide better information about the service delivery from staff member or nursing staff. In this essay, there is discussion about the information
which can show that there are many of the older people are facing any type of abuse in the aged care settings. There is also discussion about the
implication of older people, importance of nursing staff in the aged care settings (Barry et. al., (2022)).
3. Summary of media item
According to Mary Lloyd (2020), there are about 40% of the people face at least one type of abuse in the aged care setting. In aged care
home there are many older people who have share the information that they have face some neglect or any abuse which create high difficulty to

deal with the situation that can impact the health outcomes. Author argument that there are many older people who have faced any type of

According to Myhre (2020), aged care home is the setting in which older people are provided health and care support. This is the one in
which healthcare professional specially nursing staff are able to provide better delivery of healthcare services which are associated with delivery
of better and effective response towards the care services to older people (Westwood, (2019)). Through study, it has been identified that there
are large number of older people who are facing negative care and neglect in the care service. There are also many people who have reported
that within aged care home older people and their family member are not getting better care where neglect is higher. There are also many
information gathering in which it has been identified that there are large number of population which are effective and get better care services
which are associated with ensure about getting better care by the staff member and the nursing staff. It has also been observed that there are

of not getting better delivery of care to older people to help and support effectively.

home but delivered services are not enough or quality has been compromised. This can have negative impact on the health improvement and can
lead to create difficulty in improving the quality of life (Bodkin et. al., (2019)). It has been reported that about 40% of older people face any type
of abuse or neglect while getting support in the aged care home which should be taken in consideration to improve the care service and take
appropriate action that can help to conduct better service delivery to improve older people health. After asked by the older people from aged care
home, they revealed that they have face neglect and sometimes get mistreated by the staff member either in behaviour or taking care of their
specific needs. This leads to make them face various difficulties. They have faced the physical abuse, mistreatment and misbehave, verbal or
psychological abuse, rough handling, yelling in anger, behaving aggressively with older people, punching, slapping, hitting, speaking in harsh
tone and many more. These are some of the abuse which are generally faced by the older people in aged care homes.
5. Knowledge gaps identified from literature reviewed
There are some of the knowledge gaps in the literature review which includes about intervention and ways which can be effective to
minimise or finish abuse in the aged care home. There is another gap which includes the causes which leads to create the situation of neglect of
abuse in the aged care home (Meinhofer et. al., (2019)). There is another gap which does not include in the literature review that role of nursing
staff the supervisor who have the responsibility to ensure about conduction proper delivery to older people who are in the aged care home. They
should ensure that there should not any type of case of neglect or abuse which can have negative impact on the older people in aged care homes.
6. Implications for the older person

To reduce the cases of neglect or abuse in the aged care home, there is highly need to ensure about healthy practice which should be
conducted in the aged care home. This can lead to create high impact on the service delivery where older people should get better care and
service for their health benefits (Bloemen et. al., (2019)). There should not any type of neglect or abuse that can have negative impact on their
health or quality of life. Through getting knowledge about the cases of neglect and abuse which is highly effective for the older people in aged
care home which lead to create high negative health impact on their quality of life. There is high impact of getting knowledge about the cases of
neglect and abuse that allow nursing staff and available staff member to get ensure about taking care of effective response towards the delivery
of better service. This can help to improve the care practice and their quality that can help to improve it more effectively. Through getting the

There is high important of having this information which can help to get better learning and improve service delivery practice in such a

service delivery and help nursing staff member to focus on the quality of service delivery and ensure about the proper care of older people in the
aged care homes. Through using the knowledge, it can allow to take different measures that can help to improve the quality of care and help to
ensure about safety from any type of neglect or abuse in the aged care homes. Here, nursing practices include the appropriate care of older
people needs which should be fulfil by them for supporting them in aged care homes (Westwood, (2019)).
