Introduction
To achieve the long term objectives of the business strategically, the organization involved in the
more competitive and globalised business by busing the various model's approaches, strategies
and procedures for achieving the long term objectives of the business is effective and efficient
manner. The chief purpose of this assignment is to analyze the information system of the
enterprise and its environment in relation to the contemporary requirement of the business. This
assignment consists the case study based on the Latureae, which is the Health and Wellness
Company which was established in the year 2000 where the main objective of the company is to
focus over the health and wellness of the people in the country. The major focus of the company
is on providing the goods and services which assist in delivering the usual approaches to health.
For the development in the market, the main focus of the company is towards product
development and innovation.

Importance of Information System
Information system plays an important role in understanding the use of information system
management and technologies which are important for the managers as well as the business
professionals. The role of the information system is vital in the field of operations of e-commerce
and e-business operations for the strategic success of the business operated in the interworked
environment. The information system assists in developing the knowledge of the business
manager to determine the uses of business processes and designs in the process of making
decisions. To ethically manage the functions of the information system, it is important that the
top performances will be achieved with the help of the strategies of the business. Information
system assists in monitoring and controlling the business resources effectively and efficiently.
The model of the information system assists in assessing the people, software, data and networks
for the conversion of the data into the information products.

Solution Plan
The solution plan selected for the management of the Latureae is the process of agile
methodology. Agile methodologies overcome the glitches which arise in the traditional method
of Waterfall model. The main characteristics of the agile methodology are that it is focused on
two main factors one people and another result. The agile methodology aims at adaptive and self
– organized planning of the project. The main phases (Abrahamsson, et.al, 2017) involved in this
methodology are an initial plan, planning phase, deployment phase, execution phase and testing
phase.
Various categories of the agile methodologies are Scrum, Lean Software Development, and
Dynamic Systems Development method, Feature Driven Development, Extreme Programming
(XP), Crystal and Kanban. The solutions which are suitable for the given management of
Latureae are described below:
Extreme programming
XP is one of the most widely used agile methodologies aims at delivering and providing high –
quality with fast delivery. The main functionality of extreme programming is: it involves the
customer, testing, planning, promotes teamwork. The efficiency of the XP team is such that it
delivers the software within 2-3 week. As the management of Latureae requires fast
development, hence XP will be suitable to apply for the solution. The basic four phases involved
in this methodology are Courage, Communication, feedback (Matharu, et. al, 2015) and
Simplicity. The development team of XP works in close relation with the customer so that user
stories are completely fulfilled. The development team of the XP reviews the code, conduct the
testing and help in maintaining the communication to achieve the requirement of the user. The
supporting characteristics of XP are: Refactoring, metaphor, integration with the continuous
development, helps in planning the game, help in releasing the short delivery, designing,
development of the test-driven environment, sustainable pace, helps in maintaining the standard
code. In such a methodology, the team aims at delivering short cycles and iteration.

Scrum
It is the process of iterative and incremental sprints which help to control, maintain the life
cycles. In this type of agile methodology in which the process framework is kept as lightweight
as possible. Scrum methodology follows the set of predefined practices and protocols to maintain
a consistent process. The framework used in this methodology is the development of sprints
which are nothing but iterative life cycles. Iterative processes (Rigby, et.al, 2016) are kept small
so that it results in faster delivery and save time for completing the important and necessary work
done which justifies its lightweight properties. The main component of the Scrum is Time Boxes,
Artifacts and Role. The benefits of Scrum are: it auto fit and adapt the changes very quickly, help
in delivering a high-quality product and aims at achieving the business purpose. Main actors of
Scrum methodology are described below:
Scrum Team – They have the responsibility to perform the task and manage the work and
organize the activities to complete the sprints in a short time.

Scrum Master – The main responsibility of Scrum Master is to develop and build the Scrum
Team, they are also involved in the planning of the project and conducting the meeting and to
deal with the constraints and obstacles.
Product Owner - They help in prioritizing and creating the backlog and aims at delivering a high-
quality product and completing the product functionality.
Product Backlog – It is considered as the repository which consists of the information of user
stories. The product owner has the responsibility to maintain the product backlog and maintain
any deletion, updating or modification in the requirement.
The workflow of Scrum methodology
 Sprint is the name of each iterative cycle.
 Then the product owner creates product backlog where prioritizing of the list takes place.
 While taking an individual sprint, top (Mollahoseini, et.al, 2018) of the product backlog
is selected and converted into Sprint backlog
 Scrum team then take those sprint backlog and works on it. The team conduct daily
meetings to check the progress of the project.
 At the completion of Sprint, the functionality of the team is delivered.

Feature Driven Development (FDD)
These methodology foci on creating and designing the feature. It aims at creating very short
phases which are based on the features. The phases which are included in these methodologies
are designing, an inspection of the code, building and inspection (Naz, et.al, 2016) of the design
and domain analysis

 Concept – It is the very first phase which requires the initial planning of the scopes and
projects are divided into prioritized events. Every concept building requires the
determination of the time it will take and the cost it will require to complete the project
which will tell its feasibility status.
 Inception – Inception is the second phase which requires meetings and identification of
the stakeholder. In this phase, the team is (Sambinelli, et.al, 2018) formed by identifying
the members and skills and capability of the individual.
 Iteration – It is mainly the construction phase which requires the delivering of the
software by feeding the requirements and completing the feedback.
 Release – It is the phase in which testing is conducted. The main functions involved in
these stages are testing the system, solve any bugs, help in determining the system and
identifying the user documentation and last release every iteration.
 Production – It is the phase in which additional support is given to the above release
iteration. The main task is that it checks and ensure the smooth running of the system.
 Retirement – It is the last phase, where the customer is notified and the migration of the
system occurs in these phases only.
The overall process of the SDLC is described above but as the agile process is divided into the
various iteration, hence the steps which happens in every iteration are as follows:
 Requirements – It is collecting the all (Vijayasarathy & Butler, 2015) requirements and
resources for carrying out the project.

 Plan – It involves planning of the whole iteration, where work is prioritized and divided
in the team according to skills and capabilities by the manager
 Development – Designing and making the product to meet the requirement by following
the guideline provided.
 Testing – acceptance testing, internal and external testing, documentations are done so
that product gets ready for the final delivery.
 Delivering – It is the phase in which the product is presented to the user and the
stakeholders.
 Assessing – It involves gathering information (Peltier, 2016) so that it can be in the next
iteration.
 Feedback – This stage involves the customer acceptance and checks the requirements of
the iteration
Benefits of the solutions
 The reason for using these solution plans is because these solutions plans provide more
functioning and working software every time a new iteration is a release.
 These processes provide the more visibility status of the progress in achieving the goal
and the business value.
 These process does not depend on other algorithms or metrics like code, working hour,
bugs number and etc.
 The output results of this agile methodology are (Stirna, et.al, 2017) considered to be fare
better and of high quality.
 Agile process is the people focused which justifies that they aim at providing satisfaction
to the customer by providing the desired software and time to time delivery of the
product.
 This methodology helps in explaining and describing every detail of the requirement so
that it gives proper knowledge of the features made.
 One of the greatest benefits of the methodology is that due to its constant sprint length
and workforce, overall cost and time duration of the sprint can be easily estimated which
justifies its predictability characteristics.

be implemented without affecting the overall project which justifies its adaptability

Recommendations
The following recommendations will be helpful in the future for the better results and outcomes
of the project.
 For the management of Lautrena Scrum agile methodology will be more suitable as it
helps to adapt changes, it delivers the model fast and results-focused.
 To have effective and efficient, every team member should have proper disciplines and
respect each other and hence empowering individual on their capability will help in
achieving a better result.
 It is very necessary to integrate the lifecycle with the testing process in the early stages so
that any bugs and errors can be solved easily to avoid further glitch in the system.
 It is also very important to keep the eye on non – functional requirement so that the high-
quality product can be delivered.
 Involvement of the customer in every phase will help in achieving the greater result by
fulfilling all the requirement and needs.
 Communication is very important and hence proper communication plan should be
implemented so that it can accelerate the work and the process.
