Following the traditional waterfall methodology or similar project management approach,
may not work always. The non-iterative approach of traditional model lacks the feedback path,
which is an essential criterion for development of an enhanced project. Therefore, it is always
intelligent to follow an agile approach in the projects that might exhibit a change in scope or
stand a chance of improvement.
Monitoring and controlling the project progress is another essential part of an effective
project management. It helps in highlighting the different issues associated with the project and
helps in eliminating it as well.

Scrum is an agile process that helps in delivering projects of highest value in a very short
period of time. Therefore, the projects mainly software projects, that have a clear scope is best
suitable to follow the scrum methodology approach. The project, with a timeline of a year and
more is generally not suitable for this approach.
Software projects are best suited for Scrum approach as scrum methodology offers
flexibility to improvise the project during its implementation. As need for improvising the
project is inevitable in the testing or debugging phase of the software development, scrum
methodology is highly recommended for such projects.

The agile methodology is generally used in project implementation when a particular
project is flexible enough to include changes in the project scope while its implementation. It

helps in removing the bugs from the project and enhancing its performance. It further helps in
successful completion of the project within a very les time. Therefore, this approach is mainly
used for small-scale projects such as software development.
Kanban is a visual system that helps in managing a work through systematic process.
Therefore, it would be useful in organization that has many simultaneous operations in process
such as in production industry, healthcare, project development and so on.

Working software is definitely an advantage over comprehensive documentation, as the
later needs a lot more time and labor in comparison to the working software. The practical
testing of things is further more important than comprehensive documentation.
Customer collaboration over a particular contract negotiation is sometimes difficult, as
the customers may not have a clear idea about what they want. This hurdle can be eliminated by
proper communication and creating real designing documents that would reflect the need of the
customer. The communication with the customer is a very important aspect for implementing a
project according to their needs.

The role of a product owner is that of a project manager as the responsibility of a product
owner is similar in many ways. The product owner is responsible for successful development and
delivery of a product, which is similar to that of a project manager who is responsible for
successful implementation and completion of a project. The product owner has to be customer
focused in order to ensure the success of the product, similar to that of a project manager who is

responsible for executing a project in a proper way for its successful completion. For both the
cases, the co-operation among the team member is essential for successful project and product
development.

The role of project owner is similar to that of a project manager of a scrum team. This is
because the project manager mainly manages the successful implementation of the project.
Similar is the case of a product owner as he is the key person who planning and initiating the
product development. The product owner needs to have a detailed information about the progress
in the product development, which is very similar with the case of project manager. The project
team members need to report to the project manager about the project progress, similar to that of
a product development team.

The responsibility of a product owner is to ensure proper monitoring of the development
of the product. This development phase should include product enhancement and therefore, new
user can be added to the system. If a new user is given an access to a system, they can help in
project improvement by offering different suggestion. The product owner may delete an existing
user as well if his performance is not up to the mark.

Keeping a track of the inventory is essential for proper monitoring of a project. Inventory
management is a major aspect from the business point of view as well. The work of a manager is
to understand the need of a project or a company in accordance to the customers’ demand. The

analysis of each and every perspective of a project is necessary for proper management of the
same. The product development should be synchronized with the demand of the product and
therefore proper estimation of the product demand is essential. It is the responsibility of a manger
to estimate the project needs.
