PROJECT MANAGEMENT AGILE
Post 1
The reason behind having fixed sprint duration is to develop a correct estimation of the
project deliverables. It generally helps in providing an understanding between the development
team and the client. Client gets to know that he or she will be getting a project update in 2 or 3
weeks. These time boxes are essentially kept consistent that further helps in prioritizing the
stories for every sprint.
Inconsistent duration of the sprits is the major reason for an impact in project velocity.
The inconsistency in the duration can be a cause of resource unavailability, which is therefore
another reason of an impact on velocity. certain unavoidable situations that might creep into the
project is a reason of impact in velocity that cannot be controlled.
Post 2
Sprint Zero is generally used for a project that requires extreme planning and preparation
in its very first sprint. This includes evaluation and determination of a proper agile methodology
to be used and the required tools. Assembling a team is a major task of Sprint Zero apart from
setting up of a proper software environment.
The fixed duration of sprint definitely helps in improving the coordination among the
team members apart from saving a considerable amount of time. Since the duration of the sprints
are fixed, there is no question of variability and therefore it helps in providing a better quality of
the work. Since everything is planned beforehand, it promotes better workflow along with the
continuous improvement in operational processes in form of customer feedback.
