ABSTRACT
In recent time, the business environment has been evolving significantly which raise the
competition level among the organization. It has become important for the organizations in
the business environment that they effectively work with the current trends and changes for
gaining effectiveness in the business. The role of innovation in this situation possess
significant potent on the organization in striving their desired goals. The application of
innovation in the business operations and functioning of the organization would help in
gaining the desired benefit. There are different ways through which the organization could
carry innovation in its business operations. One of the most trending innovational techniques
in the business environment is Artificial Intelligence (AI).
It has been evident that there are several organizations in the business environment who
have been utilizing the AI for carrying their operations in an effective manner. A study would
be conducted for assessing the adoption of AI in the organization along with the respective
challenges. It would help in gaining substantial knowledge regarding AI and also
understanding the ways through which the organization could adopt it in the business. In
addition, there are certain challenges which are faced by the organization during the
adoption of AI such that the study would help in gaining significant insight regarding them.
Moreover, it could be stated that the study would help in attaining substantial information
regarding the role of AI in the success of the business.

LITERATURE REVIEW
A preliminary literature review would be conducted in the study so that significant
knowledge regarding the research topic could be attained effectively. In the literature
review process, the research studies on a similar topic are scrutinized in a critical manner so
that theoretical knowledge along with the findings could be evaluated. It would help in
meeting the research aim and objectives of the study appropriately.
McKinsey (2019) has conducted a study regarding the adoption of AI in businesses. Initially,
it is important to understand the meaning of Artificial Intelligence (AI). The term AI is known
as the process which assists in transforming the computer into a computer-controlled robot
which thinks in an intelligent manner similar to the humans (TP, 2019). It has been
evaluated from the study that the adoption of AI in global businesses has been carrying in a
rapid manner. The AI machine possesses the capability to perform functions regarding
reasoning, problem-solving, etc. in a suitable manner which assists in solving the business
problems (Zhang, 2018). The number of organizations has been increasing who are using AI
in their business while there are some organizations where the use of AI has been at the
pilot stage.

The sectors where the applications of AI have been carried are diverse in nature such as the
telecom, financial, high-tech, etc. The investment of AI has been significant in the businesses
which are returning to the organization in form of high profit and revenue through effective
operations. Currently, the adoption of AI in the businesses has been done at the initial level
which is growing effectively with time. It is essential for the organization that they consider
certain aspects in order to avail the benefits of AI at a huge level. The organizations need to
improve their core practices so that they could develop their potential value. The
application of a suitable strategy for AI plays a major role in the success of the organization.
Moreover, the major challenge which is faced by the organization regarding the adoption of
AI is the application of AI strategy (AC, 2018). The organizations don’t have potential talent
and face certain constraints in finding a solution for AI. Moreover, it could be
comprehended that the incompetent strategy for AI results in significant challenges for the
businesses. In addition to this, there are challenges to the workforce as they might find
difficulty in dealing with AI. It is essential for the organizations that they effectively work on
suitable strategies for adopting AI in the business.
A study has been carried by Curran (2017) that focuses on the barriers which are faced by
the enterprise due to the adoption of AI. The major question which is faced by the
organization regarding the application of AU is that how they utilize the AI practice in the
business. It has been evaluated that the role of AI in driving the global GDP would be gaining
to $15 trillion by 2030 (PwC, 2019). In addition to this, the major barriers which are faced by
the organization regarding the adoption of AI are unclear leadership, identifying problems,
and access to the skills. The leadership skills among the leader regarding the application of
AI should be effective so that it could be applied in the business. The effective approach for
adopting the AI in the business would be fruitful at a huge level.
It is essential that the problems should be identified effectively regarding the adoption of AI
so that the organization could work in an effective manner. The benefits of AI in the
business have been significant as it enhances the efficiency and effectiveness of the
operations. The major problems which should be focused on the organization are
determining areas where the use of AI would be effective, determining suitable employees

for handling the AI, and identifying the work areas which need improvement (CZ, 2017). The
solution to these problems would be helpful in the adoption of AI. Moreover, the AI could
be effectively adopted in the organization through potential skills which would help in
carrying the business operations. The analytical team of the organization should work on
improving their skills so that they could adopt AI effectively (Fu, 2018). There are different
ways through which required skills regarding the adoption of AI could be evolved.

RESEARCH QUESTION
The research questions have been developed in the study in order to meet the aim and
objectives effectively. The focus of the research questions is majorly on the aim of the study.
The research questions of the study are:
What role has been playing by AI in the business functioning of the organization?
How the adoption of AI in the business could be carried by the organization?
What are the challenges which are faced by the organization during the adoption of
AI?
RESEARCH METHODOLOGY
Research methodology is known as the set of certain procedures which helps in identifying,
selecting, process, and assessing the information of the topic (University of the
Witwatersrand, 2019). The application of the research methodology in the study helps in
scrutinizing the validity and reliability of the study in an effective manner. Moreover, the
research methodology helps in understanding the process of data collection and the analysis
of the data. There are two major approaches in the research methodology such as
qualitative and quantitative research methodology. The research study would incorporate
both qualitative and quantitative research methodology. It could be stated that a mixed
research methodology has been applied in the research study. The application of these
research methodologies would be helpful in collecting the primary and secondary data for
the study which further assist in meeting the required aim and objectives.
Initially, the secondary data in the research study would be collected with help of qualitative
research methodology. The technique which would be applied under the qualitative
research methodology for collecting the secondary data is the literature review (Atlas,
2019). The process of literature review helps in scrutinizing the research studies on a similar
topic which assist in gaining substantial knowledge for carrying the study forward. The
sources which are utilized in the research study are genuine and the authors would be
acknowledged in the study such that proper citation would be done. This process would be
helpful in collecting secondary data for the study.

Further, the quantitative research methodology would be applied so that the primary data
for the research study could be collected. The collection of primary data is carried through
the help of different approaches such as survey, interview, observation, focus groups, etc. In
this research study, the most suitable way of collecting the primary data is a survey (Bhatia,
2018). A questionnaire would be developed in the survey process which comprised of
fifteen questions regarding the research topic. The respondents who would be participating
in the survey are the employees of organizations who have been focusing on adopting AI or
adopted AI in their business.
The consent form would be provided to around 300 respondents and it is expected that
around 100 respondent would participate in the study. Further, the responses of the
respondents would be collected for gaining required information. The data analysis would
be carried after the data collection process so that substantial knowledge regarding the
research study could be collected. The process of data analysis would be conducted where
the evaluated data would be explained in terms of charts and graphs. It would help in
reflecting the understanding of the data in an effective manner.
ETHICAL CONSIDERATIONS
There are certain ethical considerations which are essential for the researcher to follow in
the study. It is important that the confidential information of the respondents should not be
shared with any unauthorized individual or group.
