covers the artificial intelligence as the emerging and the new technology which is adopted by
ASDA. Artificial Intelligence is defined as the ability of the computer system which is controlled
by human being in order to perform the task in a more accurate manner as compared to the
humans. It highly requires the human intelligence and discernment in the form of computers for
more speeding up the functions. ASDA is one of the leading international supermarket company
which is established in 1949 and headquartered in UK. It deals with the products and services
such as food products, home appliances and many more. ASDA uses Artificial Intelligence as a
new technology in their organization. The following discussion is based on the importance and
development of artificial intelligence. The report also provides the insight of use of the

entire checkout process within ASDA (Gangjee, 2019).
Development of Artificial Intelligence in ASDA
ASDA has adopted the new technology of artificial intelligence because they were to
introduce the robots supermarkets for the future which are increasingly helping in tackling the
problems of inventory related. These problems includes the prevention of the out of the stock
items and incorrect labelling along with the pricing of the products and services offered by
ASDA. Company is also looking for the AI robots who can scan the shelves 2.4 m above the
floor within the store. There are cameras who enables the gauge of ripeness in order to produce
and monitor the product which are available on the shelf. It even identifies the spills and instant
alerts the staff to make sure the fast clean up (Taulli and Oni, 2019). ASDA is also using the
artificial intelligence for introducing the advanced algorithms so that it can be understood that
