This author of this article Manali Oak has highlighted the disadvantages of Artificial
Intelligence for humankind. She has illustrated on the harsh impact that this technology
would impose if human beings use it in wrong way. As per the article, there are high chances
that man would use these intelligent machines to accomplish some dangerous missions (Oak,
2019). Also, AI is suspected to be replacing the human beings with the robots in each and
every field. Hence, the author of this article has shown her concern with the high level of
unemployment, poverty, crime and depression as a result of high use of artificial intelligence.
With the same, there is also high chances of intelligent machines to overpower the human
beings. A day will come when human beings might get enslaved by the machines, who would
be ruling the world then.
Article 2: Cassard, A. and Hamel, J. (2018). Exponential Growth of Technology and the
Impact on Economic Jobs and Teachings: Change by Assimilation. Journal of Applied

This article by Anita Cassard and Joseph Hamel has provided a brief research
information about what is working and what is not, has changed, and what are the other
options that might lurk in the coming future because of the advancement in science and
technology. The study has highlighted the ways by means of which Artificial intelligence
(AI) is proving itself to be a boon for the society. It is providing a way for amplifying and
going beyond the present capacity of the labor and capital for driving the economic growth. It
is also to mention that this paper has presented different examples how Artificial Intelligence
is introducing new concepts of leading business (Cassard & Hamel, 2018). UMO is one of

the examples among them that shows what hive mentality could achieve and how proper,
predictable and accurate the net result can be. The authors of this article have also revealed
the fact that AI can just double up the rates of annual economic development and growth by

The author of this paper, Sir Mohammad Hossein Jarrahi has described the ways how
AI has penetrated into most of the processes in several different organisations and has
resulted in growing fear among the human beings regarding their future employment. This
article has highlighted the complementarity of the Artificial Intelligence and humans and has
also examined how each and every one can bring their own strengths in the process of
organisational decision making that are typically characterised by the equivocality,
complexity and uncertainty. Along with greater computational information processing
capacity as well as an analytical approach, AI can also extend the cognition of human beings
while addressing the complexity (Jarrahi, 2018). On the other hand, the human beings can
still offer more intuitive and holistic approach while dealing with equivocality and
uncertainty in the decision making of the organisation.

This article by Rory Cellan Jones has highlighted Stephen Hawking’s concern
regarding the artificial intelligence. The pre-eminent scientist of Britain had once warn
mankind that artificial intelligence could end the mankind as the efforts for creating thinking
machines could pose significant threat to the very existence of human kind or human race.

Professor Stephen Hawking has indeed claimed that the primitive forms of the artificial
intelligence that have been developed so far have proved to be very useful for humans and
businesses but at the same time, he also fear about the outcomes of creating a thing that could
match or even surpass humans (Cellan Jones, 2014). He claimed that it is likely to take off on
its own and can even re-design itself at an increasing rate.
Summary of the articles
The article by Manali Oak has presented her deep concern on the wide array of
disadvantages of artificial intelligence for the future of human beings. It has highlighted the
tragic consequences of wide use of artificial intelligence in every field including the
increasing rate of unemployment, poverty and depression among the human beings. On the
contrary, article by Anita Cassard and Joseph Hamel have opposed this view by claiming that
artificial intelligence is going beyond the present capacity of the labour and capital for
driving the economic growth. It is likely to create more job opportunities if people do it in
right way. If people work together in order to guide the robotic innovations and AI in
responsible way in every industry, then the creation of the job opportunities is sure to take
place. It is to mention that whenever there is any significant advancement in the ways people
work, there is always a presence of fear that the job market for humans would go away but in
turn, this brings in more demand for human hands and human help. Furthermore, in support
of this point, the article by Mohammad Hossein Jarrahi also has demonstrated and
highlighted the positive impact of AI on current society and on the upcoming years. He have
claimed that AI can also extend the cognition of human beings while addressing the
complexity with the help of greater computational information processing capacity and an
analytical approach.

It is to mention that the impacts of AI technologies on the businesses are all projected
towards increasing the productivity of the labours by at least 40% within 2035. AI is really a
new factor that helps in the production of business and also has a great capacity to introduce
new sources of growth and development. However, the article presented by Rory Cellan
Jones has also presented the points in opposition of the concept of artificial intelligence. He
have presented a brief analysis of the claims made by Professor Stephen Hawking on the
negative impact of Artificial intelligence on human kind or human race. It claims that by the
advancement of science and technology, people are creating thinking robots but they are
aware of the fact that these robots are going to replace them in coming years. It is then when
human being will get eslaved by the machines who would be ruling the world.

Hence, from the analysis of the above articles it can be concluded that all the four
articles have highlight critical information on the potential, strength, and capacity of AI
technologies and robotics in creating and destroying the job market in their own ways.
However, it is to state that since the evolution of human race and after introduction of every
new technology, man has always feared about the existence of his position that he thought
would be no longer demanding in the coming future. But, it never took place. Whenever there
was an advancement, a new technology in the place or in the ways we work, there was also a
fear that our jobs would go away. The best example to mention in this context is that of
recent technological innovation, which has resulted in more jobs- the introduction of
Automation. It is particularly truer because of the fact that with its introduction in the
business market, firms started hiring more hiring more candidates who are technology experts
for helping them using the tools of automation which they have integrated. Hence, it can be
stated that AI too, would also be leading mankind towards its development and betterment

and instead of decreasing the job market, it would rather increase the job opportunities,
especially for the technology experts in the coming years.
