INTRODUCTION
Research Topic: AI and its Impact on humanity
Introduction
In the current research project essential approach for the select topic will be effectively
explained. The paper will be discussing about the Artificial intelligence and its impact upon the
society. Artificial intelligence in a very vast topic and researchers are trying hard to understand
its capabilities and intelligence for effective implementation for training them to carry out
various activities and task even in critical situation (Amodei, et al 2016). The learning will be
effective in presenting structure as well as objectives of current topic in detail. Addition, the
paper will also provide data analysis along with some recommendations.
Research Background
In the current research project, inclusive study is conducted for understanding the importance of
Artificial Intelligence along with various impacts upon humanity and society. Advancement of
technology has increased the implication of AI upon various machines to carry out various
activities and task with a motive minimize the efforts required by human to perform the same
task repeated. Many researchers are associated with different project to understand the
capabilities and intelligence of AI (Bond, and Gasser, 2014). AI has high potential and scope in
the near future, thus it is one of the famous topic among the researchers. Artificial Intelligence
has uncertain reviews and myths due to its evolving nature. Thus, AI is considered to various
impacts upon humanity covering the society, interaction and works. These impacts can be both
positive and negative. Scientist like Stephen Hawking has warned that evolution of technology
like AI will bring many negative consequences upon the human being. According to him, in near
future machine intelligence will be very high that will be effective in replacing the intelligence of
a human brain. Currently, using Machine language, many machines indifferent sectors are
effectively integrated with AI for performing various task to achieve services regarding
assistance, analysis of data, map, could computing etc. with a motive to reduce efforts, time and
money (Bostrom, 2017).
Research questions

LITERATURE REVIEW
Artificial Intelligence
AI is a very important branch of computer science that effectively deals with intelligent learning
adaptation and behavior of machines. According to Bostrom, (2017), various research in done on
AI for performing various automate tasks by machine that need intelligent behavior. According
to Cohen,. and Feigenbaum, (2014), AI can be considered as intelligence that is demonstrated not
by human brain but by machine. And for achieving AI machine language or ML, which is simple
words can be stated as ability of computers for learning through statistical techniques. The topic
of AI is very vast and scientists are haunting for more than a decade for solving mystery of AI.
How AI can be dangerous
According to some researchers the super-intelligent AI is improbable of showing emotions
unlike human, thus expecting AI to be malevolent or benevolent is useless. As per the discussion
of Crawford, and Calo, (2016), AI in some condition can become a risk when is intentionally
programmed for conducting activities that are devastating. One such example is Autonomous
weapons, this are artificial intelligence systems programmed specially to kill. This weapons may
lead to causing mass causality is handled by wrong person. AI arms race can unintentionally
encourage AI war with lose controls.
Again if the AI is programmed for beneficial purpose, but gradually it develop into destructive
tool for achieving goal can cause many issues, this may happen if the programmer fail to align
the goals of AI. If the super intelligent system is programmed for achieving ambitious geo-
engineering project, then it may lead to creating wreak havoc affecting the overall ecosystem?
According to Nilsson, (2014), networked artificial intelligence will be effective in intensify
human efficiency. However, the same will be increase the risk of threatening human autonomy,
capabilities and agency.
Positivity of AI
There are wide-ranging possibilities while integrating AI with different machine. In near future,
computers with AI will be effective in exceeding or matching the capabilities and intelligence of

human brain for performing various task and taking complex decision, speech recognition,
sophisticated analytics, visual acuity, language translation and pattern recognition. AI according
to Shoham, (2014) is a smart systems that can be applied in vehicles, farms, buildings and
utilities, and for business processes for performing same task repeatedly saving money, time,
and lives.
AI will be effective in eliminating monotony allowing the human to pursue careers offering well-
being and greater sense of living.
AI along with automation will be effective in eliminate poverty and disease. Presently, AI is
effective in driving and advancing in the sector of healthcare and medicine supporting in
prevention of disease, accuracy in diagnosis, surgery, and offers effective cures and treatment.
AI according to (), is supporting in minimizing poverty by identifying the areas that need support
the most by data analysis using images from the satellite images.

RESEARCH METHODOLOGY
Research methodology is the approach that is applied for carrying out the research for attaining
suitable outcome. Research methodology sometime is referred to structure that is considered for
performing various activities for completion of the undertaken research project. The
methodology of research emphases upon application of different techniques, tools and
approaches.
Research design
For conducting study on the selected topic, a research design is put forwarded that offered a
rough outline for the entire study. It generally defines factors and approaches to be applied by the
researcher in taking the study. Research design is effective in elaboration research design in a
casual, exploratory and descriptive manner (Turner, 2014). In the current project descriptive
research design is considered for understanding the selected topic on the basis of purpose and
attribute. The main motive of the current report is to understand and evaluate AI and its impact
upon human life and society. This will be helpful in developing hypothesis for gaining best
outcomes.
Research philosophy
Effective research philosophy is effective in data collection and analysis. Research philosophy
mainly deals with gaining knowledge and classifying characteristics for the selected topic of AK
for meeting the objectives. Research philosophy generally is categorised as Realism,
Interpretivism, and Positivism. In the current paper, the researchers have chosen positivism
philosophy which will be effective in reflecting objective nature of topic selected (Turner, 2014).
Research approach
The approach provides the guidance to the researcher in finishing the data gathering,
interpretation and analysing effectively. The research approaches for drawing the hypothesis uses
the inductive or deductive. In this research, researcher has used the deductive for testing the
hypothesis.
Research strategy

For connecting the theory and determined research question, effective research strategy is
required. Research strategies are of two types: qualitative and quantitative. In case of
Quantitative research, deductive approach is used in the strategy (Schwalbe, 2015). However in
the other case, inductive approach is used by for qualitative research. For the current project
both quality and quantitative approaches are used for data collection for understanding the
impact of AI upon humanity.
Data collection
Data collection for a research project is considered as one of the most crucial step to be
performing research for a selected topic. Information and data collected for research is the base
line considering which the researcher will effectively understand the topic and draw conclusions.
The process of data collection is effective in gathering various information and knowledge
regarding the selected topic (Turner, 2014). Data can be collected in two ways: Primarily and
secondarily. For Primary data are the information collected by the researcher which are fresh and
are not published anywhere. One the other hand, secondary data are data that are present in
different sources like books, journals, internets etc. For collecting the primary information the
research has collected data from online sources and interviews, questionnaire and surveys.
Hence, nature of the information can either be quantitative, qualitative or even both. The
investigator for the current project considers the method of data collection which is primary and
quantitative.
Sampling techniques
For carrying out effective survey, sampling technique is considered as one of the most important
element. For conducting any survey the initial step is to decide the sample size out of the large
population. Determining the size of sample size is considered as a act of deciding the effective
on the basis on n number of observations for collecting respondents. Sample size for a survey is
empirical characteristics which will be effective in gaining knowledge regarding Artificial
Intelligence and its impact upon humanity (Fayomi, 2018). For the current paper, random
sampling technique is utilised for selecting the size of respondents. For conducting the research
sample size of 30 respondents are selected and questionnaires were distributed to understand
their view.

Ethical consideration
During research, researcher may come across various issues and limitations. This is so because
the factor of confidentiality is linked with project. Gathering of data and information is done
from different sources thus it may raise issues related secrecy. The finding of the study will not
make available for public (Fayomi, 2018). The questionnaires will be designing considering the
privacy and sentiments of the respondents. Main restrictions for conducting the researcher
project are related to limitation of time and resource. Moreover, data and information collected
from the respondent can be biased which will involve more expenses.
Data presentation
The researcher for the current research project will represent all gathered data and information in
the form tables and graphs. All the numerical data are collected in MS-excel for effective
analysis and interpretation. Information gathered from the questionnaire is plotted using pie
diagram with the help of excel spreadsheet.
Activity plan
To carry out the current research project, the research needs to implement a systematic approach
using an effective action plan that has information regarding the activities to be carried out
throughout the project along with time scheduling (Heagney, 2016.).
