To determine the importance of artificial intelligence on the performance of business
operation”. A case study on Sainsbury.
Research objectives:

To examine the risk faced by Sainsbury organisation at the time of using artificial

Literature review
New techniques of AI used in Sainsbury.
According to the views of Preetipadma, 2020, Artificial intelligence has changed the way
of innovative technologies. It has taken a storm in every industry whether in a hospitality
industry or grocery industry. Many of the new and innovative technologies have occurred in
modern days. Sainsbury uses various innovation in their company to enhance its customers and
employees both. Techniques like Natural language generation- this technology converts
structural data into the native language. Natural language is the set of AI that helps the content
developers to automatize content and verbalize in the desired format (EMERGING
TECHNOLOGIES IN ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE, 2020). Then another is machine learning-
this technique of artificial intelligence helps the company to make familiar decisions with data
analytics performed using formulas or statistical models. Sainsbury uses this technology for
predicting changing preferences of customers, their behaviour and their data. This is importance
for the researcher to conduct this research about this topic because this will help the person in

increasing their knowledge about about artificial intelligence and results in knowing about the
new technologies of artificial intelligence.
Importance of AI in improvement of business operations

a days for every organisation. AI looked upon new techniques and tools which helps the business
in performing better. Artificial intelligence makes lives easy and they reduce human effort as
much as possible. Manual involvement is the last thing that could be seen while operating parts
connected with this technology. AI machines increases the speed of task and process performing
in an organisation (Ways AI is Changing our World, 2019). These tools and techniques
performed their task with full accuracy and precision. This is what makes them important tool.
These tools makes the world error free by their simple and everyday techniques. Artificial
intelligence used in several ways to the Sainsbury organisation. It is included in this research
because the investigator needs to know about the importance of artificial intelligence and how
they can be important for the today's business.
Risk faced by an organisation while using AI
According to the views of Mike Thomas, 2020, Artificial intelligence is very important in
every business sector now a days. But there are several risks in using this artificial intelligent
machines. These are privacy violations, socio-economic inequality, weapons automation and
automation spurred job loss etc. due to the introduction of artificial intelligence machines the job
automation is seen as the most immediate concern. As most of the people left their jobs due to
the introduction of AI machines and robots. As in retailing sector companies are more effectively
using AI robots. This reduces job of people. There are autonomous weapons that are a part of AI
and they have programmed to kill (RISKS OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE, 2020). As if these
weapons gone in the hand of wrong people then it can lead to easily cause mass causalities. AI
programmes can also lead to destructive method for achievement of goal. This can be happen
when a person is fail to fully align the AI goals, which can turn into difficultly for him. As
Sainsbury sometimes feels very difficulty while using AI machines and tools.
Research methodology
Research methodology is a method of identifying, selecting, processing and analysing
information about the topic. This research is collected through primary and secondary methods

(Schneider and et.al., 2020). Because it is based on the questionnaire survey which is done
among 30 people. The research approaches which is used in this research is deductive approach.
Because in this approach investigator tests the viability of assumptions. Assumptions can be
theories or hypothesis. Then data analysis is used in this research. Data collection is in the form
of questionnaire survey applied by the investigator. It is in the form of interview. Investigator is
collecting information through questionnaire survey and then he make a frequency distribution
charts of those answers. Sampling methods used in this research is in statistical form. Sampling
is done between 30 people of the customers of Sainsbury and employees of Sainsbury. There are
several questions and solutions of those questions are identified in the given research.

Ethical issue: Ethical issue occurs when in a business there is a moral conflict arises. It is
regarded as the occasion where a moral standard is questioned. Research issue Salisbury that can
be faced by investigator while doing research. He might face difficulty in conducting survey
because sometimes employees cannot listen to the investor clearly and there can be lack of true
information. So this can become a difficulty while conducting research (Kaplan and Haenlein,
2020).
Potential outcomes
In the above research the investigator will be able to find the importance and types of
new technologies used in every organisation. There are various techniques used in the Sainsbury
organisation to helps the employees and organisation in such a manner that they increase the
productivity of a company. By this research the investor will be able to find the importance of
artificial intelligence in any company and by this he will be able to find that many new
techniques have come in the organisation to enhance the effectiveness of the company. By this
he will be also be finds that there are certain risks also in performing the artificial intelligence
machines and tools.
