Report
AI Summary
This report presents an analysis of air traffic passenger movement data in Australia, aiming to discover patterns and trends to aid in forecasting. The project involved data collection from government and other sources, focusing on airport data from 1985-2017 to analyze aircraft trends and passenger movements. Tools like Tableau and Excel Solver were used for data analysis. The report includes sections on methodology, data sources, and discussion of artifacts such as passenger and aircraft movement from 1985-2017, analysis of top airports, and international airline revenue passenger movements. The individual contribution statement highlights the role of literature review and proofreading. The report concludes with forecasting, limitations, and recommendations for future research and coordination among group members.

ANALYSIS OF AIR TRAFFIC PASSENGER MOVEMENT DATA TO DISCOVER PATTERNS FOR FORECASTING 2
INTRODUCTION
Our project was an in depth analysis of air transport in Australia with the main objective of
discovering trends and patterns to help air transport authorities in decision making. The project
achieved this aim since the analysis was conducted and results documented followed by
discussions and recommendations to the stakeholders and the relevant air transport authorities.
INDIVIDUAL CONTRIBUTION STATEMENT
My role on the project was writing the literature review and helping in proof reading the final
project report. I consulted widely to ensure that I give sufficient information on projects related
to ours. I decided to take up this role since I have the strength of doing thorough research and
presenting it effectively.
TEAM WORK
There was team work and coordination in every step of the project implementation. Every team
member had a unique task to accomplish. Whenever there were issues that needed the
contribution of every member we came together and discussed them in depth in order to ensure
that the project would be reliable.
STRATEGIES USED
The methodology employed in this project was quite effective, we used oral interviews and
secondary sources to gather data. The tableau tool and excel solver were used for data analysis,
this simplified the data and made it more understandable.
INDIVIDUAL TEAM MEMBER ROLES
The tasks were grouped into four comprising data analysis, data collection, writing of the
literature review and writing the introduction, discussion, references, table of contents and power
point. We had a mutual agreement on how to divide the tasks amongst ourselves with clear
objectives and a timeline. Every member was under clear instructions to conform to the
agreements made by the group.
CONFLICT HANDLING
I must say our group effectively resolved every conflict which came up in the course of the
project. There were conflicts on the deadline, data analysis tools, task allocation and the project

guidelines. All these was solved through constant discussions and consensus among us, this
played a major role in ensuring the success of the project.
RISK MITIGATION
Finding the relevant write ups and projects to review seemed quite cumbersome. There were
many projects related to the subject which were inaccurate thus could not be included in the
literature review after appraising them thoroughly. There was the problem of cooperation where
some members were not keeping up with the set guideline and timelines.
I had the challenge of deciding which papers to include in the project since there is a lot of
research in the field and other related fields.
CRITISISM
In my professional evaluation some of the data used in the project seems unreliable such as the
domestic airline data for Melbourne, some of the sources used for data collection may be
inaccurate but this is subject to
RECOMMENDATIONS
Future research should be well funded by the institution for example in our project the member
who went to administer oral interviews had to use their own resources which I find demoralizing
to the research especially in the case of students who have limited resources. There should be
more coordination among group members in the sense that during the project the members must
meet frequently to deliberate on the issues affecting the group and the project and to update each
other on the progress of their assigned tasks.
